IE7 flips from new webpage to first webpage

Internet Explorer81
Everytime I open a 2nd or more window using IE7, the screen flips back to the

1st webpage opened. Doesn't matter if all the preceeding pages are minimized

or not. This is very frustrating.

Re:IE7 flips from new webpage to first webpage

Tools>Internet Options>Tabs Settings Button

Check Always Switch to New Tabs when they are created

Click Ok

Click Apply

Click OK

You can set tab preferences.

Re:IE7 flips from new webpage to first webpage

Thanks, Pat. Solved 1/2 the problem. If the previous webpages are minimized

such that they do not show on the screen, then the next webpage will open and

be displayed. However, if the earlier webpages are open in any way, the new

webpage will not display--it will be behind all the other open pages. Any

ideas on how to bring the last opened page to the front? Only one tab is

checked "Always switch to new tab..." And I restarted my computer.

Re:IE7 flips from new webpage to first webpage

Hi,

This may solve the 2nd half of the problem...

[Windows XP]

See:

886217- New program window appears behind all other open windows on Windows

2000, Windows XP or Windows Server 2003

support.microsoft.com/default.aspx >support.microsoft.com/default.aspx

Note (in that article) that TweakUI can make the registry edit, if you don't

wish to do it manually.

The UNDO file at www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm" >www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm (line #66

right-side) makes the same registry edit.

Hope this helps,

Don
