Internet Explorer / IE >> Very odd problem
I have installed IE7. I open it. It works. If I open a second window (second
instance, not a new tab, tabs work fine) it doesn't work. I get the no
connection error. If I close my initial instance (the working one) and re
open IE7, this new instance also doesnâ??t work, and I can not get it to work
again until I restart and open it for the first time. Also, if I have 1
working instance and use file->new window or 'open link in new window', that
second window WORKS. I really canâ??t figure it out. I have installed and
uninstalled, and tried fooling around with multiple options, but I canâ??t get
a second window to work, or after I close the first get any subsequent window
to work again. Internet searching yields no results, so as far as I can tell
there has been no public discussion of this or a similar problem.

Internet Explorer / IE >> Very odd problem
Hi,
Does this happen if you disable all add-ons from IE> Tools> Manage add-ons?
You can also access Manage add-ons from Control Panel> Internet Options>
Programs.
You may have an incompatible add-on.
See:
http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/troubleshoot.asp
http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2006/07/25/678113.aspx
http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2006/08/25/718504.aspx
for troubleshooting information.
Additional information on all aspects of IE7 at:
Known issues - IE7- ie-vista.com:
http://www.ie-vista.com/known_issues.html
Release Notes for Internet Explorer 7:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/ie/releasenotes/default.aspx
Hope this helps,

Internet Explorer / IE >> Very odd problem
Running without addons does not affect this problem at all. It acts the same
either way. Also I am using XP pro, just to clarify.
Thank you for trying.

Internet Explorer / IE >> Very odd problem
Hi,
This may be the work of a third-party program that's not an add-on. Turn on
the Windows Firewall, from Control Panel or Security Center, and disable
third-party firewalls, privacy/security programs, security suites,
antiphishing programs, etc.

Internet Explorer / IE >> Very odd problem
Try this test *very* briefly because you'll be running with security
programs shutdown. It would be best if you were not connected to the
internet in Safe Mode for longer than 10-20 seconds.
Startup in Safe Mode with Networking.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=315222 If the problem goes
away, a program that didn't load in Safe Mode is causing it.
