Internet Explorer / IE >> Why can't IE 7 on Vista send email via Outlook Exchange Server?
Subject line says it all. My new Vista equipped computer using IE 7 cannot
send email through my company's web-based Microsoft Outlook Exchange Server,
Amazingly, since all three are MS products, any non-MS brower will work! Any
ideas? Thanks.

On your OWA login page you should have the option for premium or basic.
When you use a non-MS browser that is the same as selecting basic on that
page. Try selecting basic with IE7 and it should work.
In order for IE7 to work with OWA in premium mode the Exchange server must
be patched with all patches.
If you are sure your server has all the patches, log in to OWA with the
premium option. In your exchange account select Options on the bottom left.
On the options page scroll down to the e-mail security section and click the
button under "Click here to install the latest version of the S/MIME
Control. When the file download dialog appears, choose Open."

What is OWA? The login page I get when I access my company's outlook web page
-- probably what OWA is--allows me only to enter a user name and password and
store the password if desired. I see no option for premium versus basic, or
any other option, for that matter. So is there some way to trick it into
basic?
Also, when I log in and go to Options on my account, there are no available
choices on Security. Perhaps it's been disabled by the company.
Thanks for your help.

Sounds like your company is using an older version of Exchange server that
doesn't suppor these newer features.
