Internet Explorer / IE >> Organizing Links
Hi,
I have several folders in my Links toolbar that may contain other folders,
and that I occasionally need to add to. However, dragging a URL to the folder
ends up adding it to the top-level folder and I cannot organize this folder
any further. These fodlers were dragged onto the Links toolbar from the
Favorites pane, but the reverse drag does not seem to be supported, otherwise
I would drag it there, organize it, then drag it back to the Links toolbar.
Any idea on how I can accomplish that?
Alternatively, I could manually organize it using Windows Explorer if I can
find the folder that all links are stored in. I searched all of the AppData
tree but cannot find it. Any idea where it resides?
Thanks

The Links toolbar is also the Links folder under Favorites. There are
several ways to accomplish what you want:
- Click on the Favorites menu to show it. Click and drag on any item in
the menu and drag where you want. If you want to drag to a different
parent folder then proceed upward in the tree and point to the folder
and it will expand in a second, or two. If you find that you don't want
to move the item after Click+Dragging it, hit the Esc key to cancel.
- Under the Favorites folder. So you could use the "Favorites ->
Organize Favorites" menu, arrange your shortcuts.
- Use Windows Explorer to go to your %userprofile%\Favorites drive
folder and organize from there. Again, the Links subfolder is what
shows up in the Links toolbar.

Internet Explorer / IE >> Organizing Links
Sorry about that. It's IE 7 running under Windows Vista Ultimate SP1.
VanguardLH has given me the answer I was looking for. Thank you for
responding though.
