Do I need to overwrite the downloaded IE7RC1-WindowsXP-x86-enu program (which
gives me a properly working IE7) with the "official" download
IE7-WindowsXP-x86-enu??
Don't want to ruin a smoothly running IE.

You need to uninstall IE7RC1 first before installing IE7 Final.

Must you, or should you? Only, I didn't, and all is well here - the Final
installer uninstalled RC1 for me, with a reboot, and it was all a-okay.

The installer for the final will find and remove any previous versions of
IE7 if you had them installed, so not necessary to do that manually as a
seperate step.
