Internet Explorer / IE >> mouseover display at bottom of screen - it's not.

Hi,
that little portion of IE at the bottom of the screen,
where you see the progress of web pages loading,
not sure what it's referred to as, but I find it quite useful
when I go to my Web Email, in the "FROM" and the "Subject",
I can put the mouse over the "From" name and it'll display
the email address of the sender, and I can confirm it IS
Spam from someone I do not know(or not as the case may be)
and I can mouse over the subject, and see the ful text,
which isn't always on display if it's lengthy, very useful.
Same with links on a web page - you can mouse over them to
have the site address displayed down the screen bottom
But what's the setting that controls this display?
I'v just updated to IE7 - and although it still displays
web link info - it does not display the info in my Web
Mail - mouse over "From" or "Subject" and there is no more
of ther useful display down the anymore?
It may be a minor thing - but in Web Mail, it was very useful
when checking senders, and the decision ot delete without reading.

Thanks - I'm not at home right now, and won;t be for another 7
hours, but doesn't setting the statusbar - only either display it or
not display it?
But I will double check this when next on the pc.
I DO have the statusbar showing, I'll check it out further though.
thanks again.
