Re:Audio distortion in all WMP 9 playback
Thanks for your reply Neil, however, I tried all those suggestions and I
still have the distortion. My speakers consist of a sub-woofer with 2
satellite tweeters. I have no "bass boost" function, only a bass level
adjustment. Even with the bass all the way down, I still have the distortion
in the satellite tweeters. My first thought was that my speakers were
starting to go, but the fact that I have no problems with any other media
player steered me away from that thinking. If you have any more thoughts, I'm
open to suggestions. Thanks.

Go to the menus, and show media player Enhancements ->Graphic
Equalizer. Turn that off, followed by the SRS/WOW settings and other
audio enhancements. And finally, search on your speakers for some sort
of bass boost button, and turn that off too.
