When playing DVD's it does not consume the entire screen.
Media Player59
I have a 55" wide screen. My problem is that I have a lot of black space on top and bottom (sides are fine). I have configured ME XP for widescreen but it is giving me the results I am looking for. Any idea? - |

Ron - even on Widescreen TV's (mine is a 50" Panasonic LCD, for example) a "Widescreen DVD" will not necessarily take up the entire space. It depends on the "way" the title was actually filmed. Typically on the back of the DVD cover (usually in the small table at the bottom) the ratio is printed.
Movies are USUALLY (but not always) either in 1.85:1 or 2.35:1. Titles that are 1.85:1 will take up the whole space of the TV screen - no black bars on the top or bottom. 2.35:1 titles will have black bars on the top and bottom. I hope this helps. ----- Ron wrote: ----- I have a 55" wide screen. My problem is that I have a lot of black space on top and bottom (sides are fine).
