After loading Visual Studio Express products I cannot get the personal web site kit to run. After I hit Ctrl/F5 all that I get is the message listed below. This was my first attempt at doing anything with VBS. I loaded the following in the order listed: VBE, Windows Installer 3.1eula,Visual Studio VWDSETUP),SQLSERVER2005SSMSEE,SQL Server Admreportaddin,Windows Installer-kb893803 v2 86,MSXm26, MSXm26_sdk. Then I also loaded the "personal website starter kit" and tried again.....same result. Any help would be appreciated. I know I'm doing something dumb. Just don't know what dumb thing it is.

er Error in '/WebSite10' Application.

After re-reading my post above I noticed some lack of information.

I was running Visual Web Developer when I encountered the problem. I was just trying to bring up the the "create a personal web site" option offered on the first set of screens.

Just for clarification. The products I have are Visual Basic Express, Visual Web Developer and SQL Server.

I would try to download the personal website kit from http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/vwd/starterkit/ and try to install it again. It's possible that it might have been corrupted. Let me know what happens after that.

I have found that some times when using that starter pack the database takes a while to start, after re running the app a couple of times the system started. On another note have you created the security database for the system, check under the app_data directory to make sure that there is an ASPxxx.mdf file. If there isn't use the web admin tools to create it and then run the app. The system could be looking for the security systems and they have not been set up yet.

On another note. You should post questions for web development and the web starter kits on http://forums.asp.net as this is where a lot of the asp.net developers hang out. There is also a foums just for the personal starter kit on the site.
