How about a Zip file. Zip decompression is available in windows. It doesn't seem to make sense to require someone to have to install a demo version of WinRar to open one app. IMO. I am looking forward to trying it if comes out in Zip form.

That is pretty cool. Some things I'd change.

1. On first run have a include HTML file show up on webpage 1 with insctructions on how to add pages.

2. Maybe use a list that can be arranged to store the websites and allow ones that are checked to be set as default pages for each tab. Then when the app is loaded all the tabs load there corresponding page.

3. I noticed when I add www.msn.com as a website and clicked update it didn't update the label next to the radio button.

4. Us programmers are pretty savvy and would assume you had to select a radio button in order to set it. Most endusers would not know that.

5. once you have browsed away from a hompage for a certain tab there is no home button to go back to it other than clicking back.

6. The text on the bottom left is to dark to see. I'm colorblind also. And if you search the web there are some design standards for colors on web pages out there. It is mostly shades but when you consider that 5 percent or more of the pop is colorblind you have to keep colors in mind.

7. Last suggestion unless you want more. If you right click a tab it would be nice to have a context menu. 1 item on that menu could be some code to pop up an input box to type in a url, go to default homepage, or set current page as homepage.

I think it is great though. I'll defintely put it on my sons pc. Let me know if you want soem more suggestions. The more I tinker with it the more I'd like to see.

thank you!

1. I like that idea, i will include it in later versions.

2. Maybe in future versions, that was just a little something i decided to throw in.

3. I noticed that too. I am working on that and it will be fixed in later versions/

4. I stated that in the heelp button for parental settings.

5. Perhaps..

6. OK, i will fix that text. I am sorry you are colorblind. Perhaps i could do something about this.

7. To type in a URL, well.. that could possibly be a feature I could add, but by default it would be turned off.. you would have to go in and activate that. THe reason why i did not put this is because thw whole point of this is to make it so your kid can only go to specified websites. And, your other ideas i like. I will probably add them.

Thank you so much for reviewing my program. I would love more suggestions, the more the better :).

Thanks!

You asked :-)

1. Can you either set the window to be resized, have a set of default resolutions in settings, or a force full screen option. This will keep the little ones from wandering off and clicking desktop items

2. Can you disable the windows key and maybe allow other keys to be disabled thru settings. I know my sons is notorious for hitting the windows key and next thing you know he gets mad and turns the computer off.

3. I think setting the pages up in a list box would save space and allow for a lot more sites to be added.

4. Allowing for more than 3 tabs would be great.

Thank you!

1. Yes, i will do that full screen.

2. Possibly. I dont know how though... That is why the forum is here :)

3. Maybe. I do plan on allowing more than 10 websites though.

4. I plan on adding more tabs in future versions.

Can you tell me how your child likes it It is always great to hear what the users think :)

AS soon as I get a chance I'll load it up for them. Heck, I like it. It loads a lot quicker than IE7 and I only go to a handful of sites that I like opened as soon as the browser loads.

give me the option to change some colors and the title and I'd use it as my default browser. I have another pc I run IE7 on so I can use Live Favorites.

sorry, I just got a bit over-e****d. You are the first to use my program, and.. I am e****d :)

What colors do you have in mind that you want to change And, I will make you a "Parent Version" of it so you can use it.

Thanks!

Default colors would be fine. The boss might find it odd that I am using a kidsafe browser when we all stand around to see look up IMDB to see who was wrong or right. In fact the main change I'd like to see is the full screen option. At anandtech.com I have to scroll about a half inch horizontally to see some things. I am running and LCD at 1280x1024 which I think is the standard for a lot of pages these days.

Another suggestion. Minimize to the notification area. That would be sweet for any browser.

OK

Default Colors: OK

Full Screen: Will happen if I can figure out how...

Make Browsing area bigger: OK DOKE

What you mean by Minimize to the notification area

What you mean by Minimize to the notification area

It might be an option now in properties of the form. But if on minimize you could send it to the area by the clock instead of being on the taskbar that would be cool. Then add a context menu to the left and\or right clicks to bring it back up. Then maybe add an option to select which tab to show when it comes back.
