FWIW, I haven't used Firefox at all since I installed IE7 RC1.

After installing XP2 SP2, Firefox really wasn't worth it anymore. It takes too much memory as well. The tabbed browing was nice, but I had something similar with the IE6 addon.

random factoid: windows contacted mozilla to help them create a better internet explorer. i still like firefox tho, 'cause it has so much stuff for it. i like my dummy lipsum plug-in 'cause it's fun!

Catching up I'm not going to argue with that; in a Microsoft forum arguing on behalf of Firefox isn't going to get me far, this forum is stocked with loyalists. Tar and feather them!

awww... you're funny!
just read the forum about halo
i think you'll find otherwise.

here, i'll help you: I'M USING FIREFOX RIGHT NOW!! I EVEN GOT AN EXTENSION SO THAT IF I FIND A WEBSITE THAT WON'T WORK WITH FIREFOX, I CAN OPEN THAT SITE IN A NEW TAB IN IE ENCODING SO I NO LONGER HAVE ANY PRACTICAL USE FOR IE!!

ha-ha. i keep it around, tho.

That's an interesting observation.

Most websites are designed to be IE compatible. It's not a great situation for 3rd party browser vendors, who might have functionality that would make a richer experience. I think in terms of User interface, and in my opinion, IE7 and Firefox are pretty much on par. If this is truly the case, you wonder why people should want to have two different kinds of browsers installed on their Windows box.

I downloaded Firefox 2. For a multi-platform product that is done on developer's own nickel, I would have to say that I'm impressed with its quality. It's very responsive. On casual observation, it's about as fast as IE7, which probably means that both rendering engines are doing just fine and the bottleneck is the network connection. I have a hard time understanding the value of having two kinds of browsers on the same desktop, however.
