Add-in for UNC/FAT for Win 2003 Server x64

Does anyone know if there is a Win 2K3 x64 version of "Add-in for UNC/FAT" for WDS 3 or when will it be released

I have lot of data on our network drives that I need to index. I use to be able to do that with WDS 2.x on my x32 Win 2K server. But not since I upgraded to new x64 machine. I really miss this feature.

There isn't an official supported version of the UNC/FAT add-in for W2K3 Server 64 bit. It hasn't been tested by Microsoft.

I did, however, talk to a developer of the add-in who states it should work on a 64 bit system. What that means is this is untested and if you choose to install the add-in you are doing so at your own risk.

I'll be submitting a DCR to see about updating (or at least testing) the add-in for x64 systems.

I did try to install it on my 64 bit machine. It installed without any errors..however I don't see the mapped network drives in 'Indexed Locations' menu.

yup, also same for my company, we would relaly love this on all our machines it's a real limitation as we want to store files both locally and in a shared repository. (yes I too find the 32bit add-in installs ok but just doesn't show up)

Also to be able to use an interface and or an XML setup file rather than registry hacks to setup sub-searches would be really useful (although having the registry hacks means we can easily apply it to other machines..) .. we have "Code Library", "Application Documentation", "Reference" etc setup as sub folders and it is really useful not having to put in a folder criteria every time.

actually I have heaps of ideas but those two are really pushing buttons right now!

Same Issue will install but the UNC tab does not show up in the advanced menu for the desktop search options.

Using corporate my document redirection does not work with 3.0 since it is a UNC path where the default is to only index the documents and settings folder and emails from email client app.
