Exchange Servers Admin >> Operation failed when sending many mails?

Hi there,

A user is complaining that when he is sending a mass mail out (using the BCC
filed) using Outlook 2003 he gets a message saying operation failed. It does
this when the numbers are high usually, like 500 or so but sometimes it does
it at around 200 or so.

When this happens, it becomes impossible. They then have to start sending to
about 20 at a time, making the whole process long winded.

Is there something on my Exchange Server stopping this? I can't think there
is, because there are no limits and sometimes it will never say operation
failed at all?

Any thoughts?
Thanks.

Exchange Servers Admin >> Operation failed when sending many mails? We don't have one set as far as i know - can you point me in the direction
to check?
The user will get this message one day if they try and send to 500 people.
Yet the next day, they will get it if they try and send to 300 people?

Thanks.

Exchange Servers Admin >> Operation failed when sending many mails? In Exchange System Manager,

Global Settings, choose properties of Message Delivery, on Defaults Tab,
check if there is a limit on Recipient Limits.

Please let us know if it works. ^_^

Exchange Servers Admin >> Operation failed when sending many mails? Well -Found the problem.

The user was using massive lists of addresses copied and pasted in from a

It was enough to say operation failed.

This was why sometimes 500 would send fine (if all addresses ok) and
sometimes not even send 10, because of that rogue character!

Oh well, all solved. I was skipping over the obvious. Would have thought
Outlook would have picked it up!

Thanks.
