Exchange Servers Admin >> Windows 2k3 Server / Exchange IS Startup Error

My Scenario looks like this:
Root Domain Controller: AD (GC) + Exchange Server 2K3 SP1
Child Domain Controller: AD (GC) + Exchange
Administration Tools.
I ran the Forestprep in root Domain, the doamin preps in
both ( Root and child domain)
Now i got the problem, that if my root domain controller
starts without child domain controller being up at this
time, startup procedure (as well as shutdown procedure)
takes significantly longer, and after this long duration
it prompts the error message that "at least one
service.." The eventlog says that the exchange services
could not start.
If the Child domain controller ist present at this time
the service come up with no error, and the
startup /shutdown process takes only a short period of
time.

Any ideas on this????

Incorrect DNS setup. Server should have it's IP as DNS server in it's
settings.

See (in App Event log) which server fails first and post full info from
that event here.

Exchange Servers Admin >> Windows 2k3 Server / Exchange IS Startup Error The DNS settings should be ok, since the root domain controller hast its own
IP as DNS Server configured.

The Eventlog displays the following messages.
Sure "LDAP Bind was unsuccessful on directory CDC.app.corp.net" as the
Server is down, indeed. But its only a CHild domain controller. Why does
Exchange has a dependency???
Thanks for your effort.

Exchange Servers Admin >> Windows 2k3 Server / Exchange IS Startup Error Apparently something is wrong with your AD. So let's not worry about
Exchange now and fix your AD problems first. Use dcdiag and netdiag to
find incorrect settings.
