Exchange Servers Admin >> removing public folder connection

I am in the process of migrating 5.5. to 2000. I have a
ADC for public folders. All public folders are now listed
on exchange 2000. I now only want the public folders on
2000. The instructions to remove this is pretty simple:
go to the replication tab in public folders on the
exchange 2000 and highlight the public store under the
replicate content to these public stores and click remote.
My problem is remove is grayed out and not an option. Help.

Thanks.

Before you remove the replica from the 5.5 server, I would shut the 5.5
server down and make sure that everyone can access the folders just with E2k
up and running. Once you have verified this, and then try this:

Rehome the public folder to the Exchange 5.5 computer that is in the
target site, and then remove the replica from the original Exchange 5.5
computer. To do so, follow these steps:

1. On the Exchange 5.5 computer that is in the source site, start
Microsoft Exchange Administrator.

2. Expand "Folders", expand "Public Folders", and then click the public
folder that you want to rehome.

3. On the "File" menu, click "Properties".

4. Click to clear the "Limit administrative access to home site" check
box.

5. Click the "Advanced" tab, and then click the target server (the
server where you created the replica) in the "Home server" list.

6. Click "Apply", and then click "OK".

7. On the Exchange 5.5 computer that is in the target site, start
Microsoft Exchange Administrator.

8. Expand "Folders", expand "Public Folders", and then click the public
folder that you want to remove.

9. On the "File" menu, click "Properties".

10. Click the "Replicas" tab.

11. Under "Replicate folders to", click the Exchange 5.5 computer that
is in the source site, and then click "Remove".

12. Click "Apply", and then click "OK".
