What is the exact error message you are seeing Which entry-point is not being found This much more likely to an issue with SmartBridge then it is with Windows.

Jonathan....thank you for your interest. The error message is:
The procedure entry point GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in the dynamic link library.
I have absolutely no idea what it means.

Are you using Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 This is an issue that is workaroundable--see the above link.
Thanks,
Brian

I was getting the same error message after I installed IE7. The above link gave a fix which worked. The only difficulty I had was in finding the correct file. I did a search for Smartbridge from the Start menu in Windows and it pointed me to some program files to do with my ISP.
Did as link said and all now works ok.
Many thanks,
Andy.

Hi,
Same experience for me and I just loaded IE7 yesterday (Friday) through my Verizon-Yahoo DSL provider. Can't find any file reference to SmartBridge. I did find a PSAPI.DLL file linked to a Motive reference. Renamed the file and it didn't work. The "SmartBridgeAlerts:MotiveSB.exe Entry Point Not Found GetProcessImageFileNameW could not find PSAPI.dll" message came back at the next restart. I am not a developer or programmer, just a home user and this is very annoying, especially since the proposed workaround didn't work..

Ok, I think I got it solved here. Here's what I found. After searching my system for files with PSAPI.dll in the name, it returned 4 files that were Verizon Online references and one of them had a subheading of SmartBridge. All 4 were an older date than my system/32 PSAPI.dll file. I renamed those 4 as PSAPIOLD.dll. Since each had different subheading names there were no conflicts. I restarted my system and the error message had departed.
Hope this helps.

That's great. Glad you were able to. It seems to be something turning up as pretty common affecting online service files. Bob
