My app use clickonce to deploy, and it's no referenced in Microsoft Product Identification Tool list of softwares.

Is there any incompatibility between clickonce and Microsoft Product Identification Tool

Claudio,

Please try the following.

1) Install your application
2) Open Regedit
3) Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Uninstall\\<your application>\\
4) Create a new REG_SZ called InstallLocation
5) Set the value of InstallLocation to the install path of your application, for example: C:\Program Files\Foo
6) Run the Product Identification Tool

Bhall

thanks for the quickly reply, but it didn't work.

In Regedit, my app only appears in the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall" key.

May the ClickOnce only create registry keys in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER.

Any idea

you are correct, clickonce only creates the location in HKCU. The product identification tool currently does not check that location, which is why you need to create the key I specified manually, in the location specified.

It is a temporary workaround until the product identification tool is fixed.

I had issues with this solution. I had to actually copy another Uninstall's key and change all of the appropriate values. Any idea when this is going to be fixed It didn't recurse through my subdirectories either.

On vista it will be \\mbarryvista\c$\Users\MBarry\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0\<a bunch of random stuff here>

You will need to look at down the trr to figure it out.

It looks like you also have to add an entry for the REG_SZ value called DisplayName for the tool to find it.
