While trying to install >NET Framework 3.0 I got several errors:

1) NGEN.exe -- Entry point could not be found: "The procedure entry point CorGetSvc could not be located in the dynamic link library mscoree.dll"

2) Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library: "Programs: C:\Documents a... This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."

I stopped installation at this point. In a previous post someone pointed out that a repair to the .NET components would do the trick. Well, .NET F.. is not installed! (any versions)

Ideas, please!

What OS/Architecture are you attempting to install on

Are you able to install .NET Framework 2.0

I finally gave up. This occurred about two months ago. I was using XP Pro. In frustration I nuked the system, had the HD replaced and restored everything. What a job! Now I am using applications that work with .NET 1.1. I just cannot afford to be disabled for so long like I was then. It cost me a tremendous loss of time and effort. Thanks for asking. I hope the software has undergone improvements since.Andrew

I was working on an HP with Win XP MCE 2005.

I found that this worked. Go to the Microsoft Download Center and download the following. .NET Framework Version 1.1, .NET Framework Version 1.1 SP1, .NET Framework Version 2.0 and .NET Framework Version 3.0. Make a folder on your desktop and save the files in them.

Delete the mscoree.dll file in the WINDOWS/system32/ directory (You may have to restart to delete the file)

Run .NET Framework Version 1.1 and install

Reboot

Then run .NET Version 2.0 and select Remove

Redboot

(Yes, this is backwards)

Then install .NET Framework 3.0

Then install .NET Framework 2.0

Then install .NET Framework 1.1 SP1
