Hi,
This is not really a Windows Forum but what the hell.
Create a share:
- right click a folder/drive and select "Sharing and Security"
- click "New Share" (the default share for a drive like C$ is only available for administrators)
- enter the name of the share
- click Permissions
- add the user you want to be able to connect to the share (if you add users, all known users can connect to the share)
Show the share as a drive:
- go to explorer
- in the menu go to Tools\Map Network Drive
- in the dialog box, set the location of the shared folder
- (optionally) click the "different user name" to connect to the share using a different user name
- check the "Reconnect at logon"
NOTE: by default Windows XP does not allow connections without a password (it is possible to disable this via policies)
Greetz,
Geert
