hi,

First, I would think it is a bug. Hopefully the sp1 fixed it.
We have VS2005 Professional Edition with version 8.0.50727.42 on XP Pro.
The problem we have is, we are working on a project using .net compact framework 1.0 for x51(windows mobile 2005) pda. When I try to debug the project, first, VS will start to deploy the project to pda, and then start de**** to debug it. Normally, it works fine. But if the connection on ActiveSycn is broken, or PDA is dead, VS could not figure it out and keeps deploying, never return. And I did not see anywhere I can stop it. The Cancel in Build is not working in this case either. So, I have to close the whole solution or even kill the whole VS2005. Is there anyone who has the similar experience
Thanks.

I don't have any experience with VS2005 and ActiveSync but it sounds like an issue with AS and not VS2005. I worked with AS in the early days of CE and it was annoyingly painful to work with. I believe AS has a timeout so it might just be necessary to wait for the time out to occur (might be up to 2 minutes). If it is any comfort AS has been replaced in Vista with a better program.

Thanks for your reply.
It might be something with ActiveSync. Sometimes, I even unplug the cradle USB cable, and ActiveSync knows to disconnect and changes the status. But VS2005 still is sitting there. And you can see the little internet deploying icon keeps deploying, but never returns.

Are you using the latest ActiveSync version I had ordinary connection problems with my PDA until I updated to the latest version.
