hey ng. what's the deal with the MCSE+S on 2003 upgrade?

if you finish your MCSE+S on 2000 and then take the two 2003 upgrade exams

70-292 & 70-296, do you get your MCSE+S on 2003?

Re:MCSE+S on 2k3 upgradable?

According to

www.microsoft.com/Traincert/mcp/mcse/security/windowsserver2003.asp">www.microsoft.com/Traincert/mcp/mcse/security/windowsserver2003.asp

you dont get your 2003 Specialist: Security that way.

You will need

292 and 296 for your 2k-2k3 upgrade as well as 298 and 299 to gain the

certification

Interestingly though you can do 270,290,291,293,294 to get MCSE2k3 if

you already have 220 or 221 (which can be used as an elective)

Re:MCSE+S on 2k3 upgradable?

Are you refering to this?

2 Candidates who hold MCSA or MCSE on Windows 2000 credentials may take

Exam 70-292 in place of Exams 70-290 and 70-291. In addition, candidates

who hold an MCSE on Windows 2000 credential may take Exam 70-296 in place

of Exams 70-293 and 70-294.

the above covers the core requirements.

so, with an mcse2k and if you already did your 227 as an elective, and you

take the 292/296 upgrade exams to upgrade to mcse 2k3...

you only will need to get 299 & 298 to upgrade the a mcse+s on 2k3.
