Newbie : Security Issues

Hi,



I'm just moving over from ASP & VBScript to VB and had a question that I

can't find the difinitive answers to, any input appreciated !



My first application involves complete access to a mySQL database to login

to accounts get messages etc. Is there a security issue with this in anyway

? Will people be able to somehow 'grab' the connection string ( and then

simply use a GUI ) to get full access to the Database ?



Would I be better off using XML for the above anyway ?
