Visual Basic >> Advice Scanned document

Hi,

We have a XEROX machine that has Scanning , using PaperPort

The question is, is there a way that when I scan a document to a folder (PDF
Format) have VB program find the PDF Document search for specific
information and compare the information with the Table info, if correct
then rename the PDF Document as per information.

1 - Is it possible to search a PDF document from VB

2 - Do I need to buy a thrid party software ?

3 - ScanSoft SDK , can this tool do the work I need it to do?

Thanks
Dib

Visual Basic >> Advice Scanned document I think you are looking at a third party tool.

I have an older version of the ScanSoft SDK and I don't think it has a means
to search the PDF that it generates. That's not it's strength; SCAN + OCR
are, however (perhaps others more informed of the newer SDK can comment on
this).

If it helps, Adobe has an IFilter that Index Service can use to index PDF's,
against which the document can be queried using common Index Server queries.
