OT: Did you ever wonder if spammers buy domains like 'nospam.com' just in case...

Visual Studio81
...stupid people like myself accidentally reply to ng messages with their

e-mail account, ergo, collecting them fresh and obviously valid e-mail

addresses...?

I'm sure the b*stards do...

I don't get it. What use would the domain name of nospam.com be to a

spammer?

Me either. BTW, this domain is registered, but not by a spammer.

What is hard to understand? Valid e-mail addresses are valuable to

spammers. Spammers see many people on ng's posting names like

ihatespam@nospam.com. People accidentaly send mail there instead of posting

to the ng. A valid e-mail comes in on the nospam.com domain. The catch all

for mail collects all of these valid 'from' e-mail addresses.

As for nospam.com, it is owned by a marketing (read as 'likely spamming')

company. What a coincidence...

I am sorry but I have more important things to ponder in life than this.
