I opened up my Foxpro 2.5 project under VP 6.0 an none of my screens work. When I try to modify the screen I get message much like this.

Error loading File, record number 5 InLine3 < or one of it's members> ColourSource: Expression evaluated to an illegal value.

I know I am late in the game converting but I sure hate the idea of redoing all these screens. Does anyone have any ideas. Thanks in advance

If memory serves me I believe this is due to graphics on your form.

Someone made a utility that changed all these ColorSource = 3 to another number.

I had to open each form's scx file as a database and change all of mine before I ran the screen converter.

Open the form as a database, go to record 5 and look at the properties memo field. What is the value of ColorSource

If it is 3 either comment it out or change it to another number.

can you remember how you opened a .scx file as a database do I do that in foxpro 2.5 or with some other program. I can open the .spr files with modi comm but I've never have opened a .scx file expect with modi scree.

thanks.

USE MyForm.scx
BROWSE

.SPR files are plain text that you can open with Modi Comm or Notepad.

alex is correct, however I believe I may have told you the incorrect time to do this. After you convert the form then open the scx file in Visual Foxpro, not in foxpro.

I can't tell you how grateful I am for you help. YOU"RE BOTH AWESOME! I've put off converting for a few years now as I was just sick thinking about re-writing the whole application. You have renewed my faith in developing software again.

Thanks!
