Problem selecting a font in Visual Foxpro 9.0

When I select the FontName property in the Property window, my default font Arial has disappeared from the selection list above. Arial is corrected installed in my system and I can select it in any other application, even with getfont() in the command window. Any idea Thanks.

Yes I have SP1. I have un-installed and re-installed vfp9. The problem originally showed up being unable to choose Arial in the Properties window of forms and controls. Now I have something similar happening with a define window statement that specifies Arial font. This piece of code that has been working OK for a year until today.

Not really sure if this is purely a VFP issue, or a more general windows issue. Does the font show up in other application dialogs

It sounds as if the font has somehow been removed from the list of installed fonts that VFP is using to populate the dialog. Installed fonts are in the registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\FontMapper

it is ok in other apps, ok in vfp8 and vfp6, just vfp9 is bad

If you create a label and put:

thisform.mylabel.FontName = "Arial"

shows it correct

yes, the font appears OK on the form at runtime and design time, when I add a label from the form controls toolbar it appears with Arial as teh font by default.

OK so it is a VFP issue, not a windows one.

Since it is a VFP 9.0 only issue, (you say it is OK in VFP 6 and 8) then about the only thing it could be is the FoxUser table - since nothing else is version-specific. Try deleting the record(s) where the ID = "PROPWIND"

that makes sense. i deleted that record but Arial still does not show in the props. (btw, There are also some registry settings for vfp9. They seem to be Ok.)

But was no good!

Now I'm struggling! Maybe try deleting the whole FoxUser file and let VFP re-create it.... Just a SWAG (so back it up first!)

i tried that already.
this happened when i was configuring this new machine last year. I guess ill just have to get a different pc and start again.
