I have a .NET service which I have tested successfully on an XP box. It is set to run as a Network Service, when it is installed on Windows 2000 I get the following error
"An exception occured during the install phase, ... win32exception. The account name is invalid or the password is invalid for the account specified."
Does Network Service exist under Windows 2000 services
you need to make sure that the account has been added and the password is correct for the service account user
Network Service does exist in Windows 2000 if I remember correctly. Check the user accounts/system accounts in the computer management in Control Panel
