Excel Misc >> Data Validation Input Message Box Position Frozen

I am using Data Validation as a type of "Cell Tip" information box. For
instance, if I choose a particular cell, the message box will say "Load 1 -
Number of cases or units shipped". This is to tell the person to input that
requested information into the box.

This worked fine until I inadvertently dragged a box from its position next
to the cell to somewhere else on the screen. Now, EVERY Data Validation
message box appears at the same place on the screen; it no longer appears
near the chosen cell, as before. Is there a way to "Undo" this?

Excel Misc >> Data Validation Input Message Box Position Frozen Sounds like maybe the best thing to do at this point is highlight the entire
sheet, go to your validation and click the Clear All button, then re-do the
validation where it's needed...

Excel Misc >> Data Validation Input Message Box Position Frozen Actually, I finally found a thread here from 2005 that was asking the
opposite: someone wanted the text box to stay in one position, and it
wouldn't. It turns out that if the message box gets moved, all the data
validation text boxes are moved to that position UNTIL THE SHEET IS SAVED,
CLOSED, THEN REOPENED. At that point, the text message boxes appear as
normal, and appear next to the cell in question.

Anyway, thanks for answering so quickly, Sean.
