WindowsServices >> Looking for a modified Links List Web Part I'm setting up a WSS site for my company. We are using a links list web
part and the list of links has grown longer than fit on one screen.
Someone has suggested a list with the letters A through Z at the top,
so when a user clicks on "N" for example, the list is displayed
starting with the N descriptions.

I'd like to do this as simply as possible. Use what comes out of the
box from Microsoft. Use a web part someone else has written. Buy a web
part. If needed, create one.

This is all fairly new to me, so I'm also looking for pointers on where
to find this kind of information, so when the next question comes
along, I'll have a better idea of where to start looking.

Thanks for your help!

WindowsServices >> Looking for a modified Links List Web Part The simplest way is just to create views.

Perhaps to avoid over complication (and too many) views for grouped letters
(A-D, E-H ...)

Add a new field of Choice type with this "A-D" etc. names listed as options
and use Edit in Datasheet to create the contents for the already-done links.

WindowsServices >> Looking for a modified Links List Web Part You could also add a custom column so that you could group the links buy a
category (if relevant).
Similar to the links list on my homepage http://www.wssdemo.com
