WindowsMe >> "Use Mouse Wheel for Scrolling" grayed out Says Tweak UI. So I can't scroll. This happens with every WME install.

Can anyone help me?

WindowsMe >> "Use Mouse Wheel for Scrolling" grayed out Are you sure that you've installed the correct driver?

If an MS WheelMouse recheck and confirm your installation instructions. Just
because it's MS doesn't 'automatically' make WinMe recognise it correctly
<g>

Check DevMan settings and/or Control Panel - Also, if you have a mouse icon
on your systray check there to adjust your mouse settings.

Check your (Intellimouse) driver. Take a look at :-
"IntelliPoint: Cannot configure mouse buttons or settings"

WindowsMe >> "Use Mouse Wheel for Scrolling" grayed out PS - Walter, if you find that have to re-install your mouse, I suggest you
remove the 'old' mouse driver(s) in Safe Mode before you start.

WindowsMe >> "Use Mouse Wheel for Scrolling" grayed out I think I see the problem but I do not know how to solve it. I do not have
the drivers CD for the mouse, which is a standard Microsoft "Basic" mouse. I
also use a special drivers CD to set up my custom AMD system, but I assume
that Windows detects the mouse, because there is no mouse driver on the CD.

For some reason, ME does not see the wheel. I tried the suggestions given,
plus the ME mouse troubleshooter, but I do not have the buttons to click on
that are required by the KB article or the mouse troubleshooter.

Hence, I am stuck.

What the heck--I have lived with it for years anyway. :)

(Intellipoint 4.12) is the most recent mouse driver for 9x, Walterius.
Sounds like either the wiring to the wheel has been 'disconnected' - poss.
while opened for cleaning, most likely by the spring having been dislodged -
or the DOS mouse driver has been set as default. The latter should be
corrected by installing Intellipoint, but the former seems more likely.
