  - Crm >> Outlook Client in 3.0 - Improved or same issues like 1.2Hi,
    
    Using Outlook client was buggy, Synch was a nightmare to maintain, a lot of
    companies gave up on it and only used web client in 1.2
    
    3.0 was suppossed to fix those issues. One of our clients is considering
    upgrading to 3.0, and this time I would rather recommend web client, if I
    know that outlook solution wont work.
    
    Searching for outlook 3.0, I read a lot of posts that talk about same issues
    that we used to have with 1.2.
    
    If you have implemented upgrade or 3.0, please comment on your experience.
    Has anything improved ? Is the synch any better ?

  - SVCS >> Matrix LayoutI created a report using a matrix via the wizard (surprisingly easily) and
    then made a few minor changes. It is almost just what I need.
    
    The layout is like this:
    _____C1_______|___C2____|____C3_____|
    R1| textbox4 |________field1_________|
    R2|______________|________field2_________|
    R3|______________|__________|___________|
    R4|_____field5_____|___field3___|____field4___|
    
    textbox4 spans 2 rows. I would like it to show labels for field1 and field2,
    but I can't find any way to replace textbox4 with 2 textboxes that only span
    a single row.
    
    Also field1 is hiding duplicates even though 'hide duplicates' is not
    checked.
    
    Can anyone offer suggestions to correct these items?

  - Crm >> Crystal session ticket needed?I've been running and customizing reports for a few weeks now without any
    incidents. Suddenly, I try to run a report and I get an error:
    "Unable to retrieve a Crystal session ticket for access to the requested
    report. For more informatio, contact your system admin."
    
    Does anyone have ideas on this? This is NOT related to the # of licenses I
    have. Partnersource seems to have a dozen articles on license issues that
    are [seemingly] unrelated to my problem.

  - Money >> Chk # not auto, entered into both accts?Wondering if this is another bug. My July monthly report came up, looking at
    it showed a check gap.
    So I looked under my checking acct. didnt see the number, did a search. When
    I was in my credit card and payed an xtra payment, I put the check number in
    on the transfer, like I always did before, and it always showed up under
    both accts. checking and credit card, automatically.
    This one it entered it in the cc, but not the checking acct.?
    
    Is this another bug?

    searching on an opportunity view, the search is based on the opportunity
    name. Would it be possible to have this search on the Account name?

  - SBS >> Messages get delivered to administrator not correct recipientOn one of my clients SBS2003 servers, I have noticed that certain messages
    get delivered to the administrator, not the correct recipient. This wasnt
    really a problem as it looked like these were mostly mass mailings, but it
    now appears that some critical mail is not getting through to the correct
    recipients. (In particular one of the mails is a mass mailing to lots of
    recipients but is not spam.)
    
    Now one of the probs seems to be that Exchange strips out the senders
    details, including the original recipient so once in the admin mailbox I
    cant see who it was intended for and check the addressing etc. If anyone
    knows how to find this info I would be grateful.
    
    The machine has McAfee Groupshield running on it, as part of the SBS Active
    Virus Defence - could this have anything to do with it?
    
    Please could you help me and give me some pointers as to how to fix this or
    at least where to start looking.

    Edition (WinCE 4.2). I downloaded Alex Feinman's Tapi wrapper (v.1.6)
    for the call monitor example. Great stuff! Unfortunately, when I
    place a call to the device an error is thrown which I narrowed down to
    tapilib.dll for which I do not have the source.

    anyone know what port MSN Messenger uses, I would like to
    find out so I could disable the blocking of that port in

  - SBS >> SBS 2003 - installation at ISP siteHello everyone,
    
    I need to install a SBS 2003 at an ISP location in order to provide a
    company website.
    I have a Dell server with 2 Network Adapters, but I do not have a LAN (right
    now)..
    
    In conclusion:
    #1 NetworkAdapter should get an Internet address ( fr ex: 67.101.11.123 );
    and
    #2 Network Adapter should be either disabled or given an intranet address
    ( for ex.: 192.168.0.101 )
    
    What configuration should I choose? It seems I should be in a peer-to-peer,
    no firewall connection, with 2 Network Adapters; but one of those not
    connected.
    
    Here is the problem, for which I need help:
    If the installation sees 1 Network Adapter it gives it the intranet address
    (192.168.16.2); and I cannot modify that;
    If the installation sees 2 Network Adapter with one disabled (or cable not
    connected) it refuses to go on.
    
    [ Later on, I might want to attach a second system to this one, for SQL
    redundancy ( for ex ), so I need to preserve the option of extending that
    the
    LAN later. ]
    
    Can anyone tell me if this is possible at all?

    I have used TREND CSM 2 for eons now with SBS2K and SBS2003 and am very
    familiar with it.
    I installed CSM3 on my SBS2003 box and was unable to access my exchange
    server via the dashboard. I was instructed by Trend to completely uninstall
    and reinstall cleanly, which I did. Still no Exchange server in dashboard. I
    was then instructed to remove the Trend Messaging Security Agent via
    add/remove programs and add it back in using the dashboard , which I did. It
    installed, services are running, web site in IIS etc. STILL unavailable in
    the dashboard. AAAARGHH. Anybody got any ideas ???

    Bank. (My Bank will not support Quicken 2005) Hence I'm not currently
    using online checking. I'm trying to figure out how to enter a
    non-recurring check to be printed at a future date. Seems like a simple task
    that is basic to any checking software but I can't find out how to do it in

  - Money >> Problem with online updates in Money 2007I recently upgraded from Money 2004. The existing accounts transferred over
    but attempts at updates were unsuccessful. I "disable" my bank accounts and
    then "re-enabled" them with the correct sign-in data, and WAS able to
    download account information ... BUT when I tried to "update" a week later I
    had the same problem I had initially. Obviously, I want to avoid a situation
    where I have to disable and reenable account info everytime I want to update.

    I recently upgraded our domain from NT4 to Win2003. I
    have an SBS2003 server and a Win2003 Enterprise Server as
    a member server. Can I promote it to a DC or not?
    Also, I just found out that I am going to get another
    server and wondered if I could install SBS on it as well
    and have both SBS Servers (the new one will be faster and
    more memory and I want to run exchange on it), or would I
    have to remove the one and create a new domain and move
    clients, etc. Any advice would be appreciated!

    the Help menu and select any of the Instructional Videos, I get a message
    that says, "You need a Web browser in order to view...," apparently not aware
    that IE is in fact installed with all the current updates. Has anyone had

    I'm running an application that has to import several contacts from a
    ERP into MS CRM 3.0.
    I call CRM's Web Services in order to do so, and then, since I do that
    with a user from my root BU, I have to share the entity with other
    businessunits (via WS aswell) for them to have access to it.
    
    Everything works fine....
    
    Except when my importer has several threads working, when it does,
    sometimes (looks random) crm internally crashes (thats what I found
    after debugging) sometimes when trying to share, others when trying to
    create. I once had this problem, tried to solve it and when I tried to
    have SQL Server (2005), Shared Memory disabled, everything was better
    and I wouldn't get the error. Now, after 3 month, even with Shared
    Memory disabled, I started getting the error, much more often.
    
    Does it have anything to do with simultaneous accesses to CRM (or CRM-
    >SQL ?!?).
    Anyone has any clue about how to solve it, or any other ideas?

    Sorry this is a bit of long post, but here we go.
    
    Aim - to be able to recover CRM in case of failure.
    
    Current setup : (i) Member server, virtual machine running VMWare, have
    installed 2003Standard R2 (SP2), SQL Server 2000 (SP4), CRM Server.
    (ii) Machine name is 2003std. This is the
    'production' CRM server.
    (iii) CRM organisation name is 'Centranets.net',
    OU was not specified at CRM install (at least, no one can recall if an OU
    WAS specified). The 4 groups that CRM
    creates on install were moved into an OU called 'CRM'.
    (iv) Everything works fine.
    
    New machine : (i) Member server, have installed 2003Standard R2 (SP2),
    SQL Server 2000 (SP4), CRM Server.
    (ii) Machine name is Hera. This is the server we
    want to recover to.
    (iii) CRM organisation name is 'Centranets
    Networking', OU specified on install is 'CENTRANETS CRM', the 4 groups were
    created okay.
    (iv) Can log onto CRM okay (of course, it is
    empty).
    
    Whats happened so far :
    Can import the customizations from 2003std okay. Can import the
    workflows from 2003std okay. Backed up CRM and Metabase databases from
    2003std SQL server okay. Restored them to Hera SQL Server okay. Now cannot
    logon to CRM on Hera - 'Invalid User Authorisation'. Using deployment
    manager on Hera to add users to CRM shows only Centranets.net business unit
    to select from. The previous attempt would not allow logon to CRM and showed
    users from the 2003std CRM install in the deployment manager on Hera. Can
    anyone please tell me what we are doing wrong? Any help is much appreciated.

    I've just started playing with the Offline Application Block to try to get a
    mobile application up and running. I may be missing something, but the
    Quickstart client applications provided with the OAB are not Smart Device
    projects, but Windows Forms projects, meaning that they cannot be deployed to
    a smart device (I'm using an iPAQ).
    
    I've tried developing my own Smart Device front-end for the IPAQ and hooking
    that into the OAB but the app always fails when trying to get the Cache
    configuration information in the CacheManager class. How do you go about
    developing a device interface and plugging that into the OAB?

    refers to the value calculated in generic list (only in "containing
    data region" ).
    
    Any idea ?
    
    (I hope the example is clear, may be a generic financial report).

  - SBS >> locked out of clientHi, I had problems connecting a computer to the server
    (SBS 2k3). I kept getting messages that client setup
    needed to be reinstalled w/ add/remove programs on the
    server. I added a second computer with no problems so I
    figured I had a problem with the first cliet computer not
    the server. So I deleted the (first) computer from SBS
    and tried adding it again. I get through assign client
    apps OK and then it says use connecompuetr to finish.
    But now I can't log on to that computer using either the
    usename or admin account. The error is can't find
    computer account or AD is not running. I also cannot
    create a ts or remote desktop connection from the serever
    to the desktop, I get Access Denied. Is there any way
    around this? The only way I can think of is to reinstall
    the client OS.

    accounts. I have a couple of bills set up just to get used to using
    them. It is my understanding that in order for budgeting/cash flow
    features to be of any use, I need to have all of my bills setup. The
    problem is that I don't want to enter the bills in my register when it
    reminds me that they are due since I am generally downloading the
    transactions associated with them anyway. I noticed that you can

  - SBS >> From POP3 to SMTPHi
    
    I have tried today to migrate from the POP3 connector to SMTP and just
    wondered if anyone had any additional issues to bring up....
    
    I have changed the domain's mx record and run CEICW accordingly to remove
    the POP3 connector configuration.
    
    I can send email out but don't seem to be able to receive any - is this
    solely due to the mx record change or is there something else that I need to
    do?
    
    I'm a bit surprised because incoming messages aren't being delivered either
    to the server OR to the old POP3 mailboxes at our ISP - I would have thought
    if it was an mx issue I would still see them at the ISP???
    
    Any thoughts???
