- SVCS >> Problems with Multi-column and FootersI have a multi-column report that I had working fine as of Friday night. It
is basically a two-column report of bar-codes to be read by a scanner, with
some identifying information under each entry.
I then added a Header that picked up a data field using the recommended
method I found in one other entry -- basically, refer to a field on the page
rather than a data base field -- that worked fine, and put a nice header all
of the way across the top of each page.
I then told it to add a footer that had static information across the bottom
of the page. Once I did that, it would no longer print the right
hand-column. It continued to print the header across the top of the page,
the data, all in the left-hand column (on three pages), and the footer
across the complete bottom of each page.
However, try as I might, I was never able to get it to print the barcode in
multiple columns.

- Compact >> Crash on WM 5.0 after turn off/onHi,
I have a strange one. Application runs just fine. If I turn the PDA off,
then back on, then sometime in the future I get the following exception when
showing a Dialog or switching forms etc. I cannot repro this on 2003 SE and
it only happens after turning the PDA off for a while. I cannot repro this
by minimizing the app - I thought it might be related to the GC. I'm pretty
sure that any threads I may have do not do any UI.
Any suggestions how to debug this?

- SBS >> Exchange services won't start on clean SBS 2003 installI keep getting the same Exchange errors on startup after a clean
install (before any configuration) of SBS 2003 Standard. Before I
even get a chance to login, it says a driver or service failed.
Exchange won't start. I get 7000, 7001, 7009 events basically saying
Exchange is timing out. When I check services, Exchange System
Attendant and Exchange Information Store are set to automatic, but not
started. I can start them manually, but on a restart the same thing
happens again.
The interesting thing is that, I did a clean install with an
evaluation version of SBS 2003 RC1 (first version). Exchange has no
problems starting. But when I reinstall with the full version, it
happens again.
I've found others who have had this same problem, but no solution that
works yet. Does anyone have any experience with this problem? It
would be greatly appreciated.

i have just implimented crm 3.0 in my organisation. when i access crm
from web interface i cannot see any enteries in calender (all the enteries
which were there before crm installation is missing.). but i can see them
when i log on to outlook client . how can i sync my old enteries to the crm
so that i can see them on the web. thanks

- SBS >> Slow Start-upJust installed a new SBS 2003 a couple weeks ago.
Yesterday the facility had a power outage and now the
server gets to Applying Computer Settings. It continues
to run forever. The Server seams to be working from the
network but unable to login for awhile. Any Suggestions.

- Messanger >> How to get email address-verification email re-sent?My daughter recently created a passport account and signed up to use
Messenger. But I noticed that she was still using her email address as her
public name and that she had never taken the step to verify her email
address. The instructions for doing so tell you to go to the email that was
sent from Microsoft and click on the link to verify the address. But that
email is no longer in her inbox (I think she deleted it) and despite many
searches, I've been unable to determine how to get Microsoft to send
another. Meanwhile, her email address displays as her name to every one of
her contacts.
Does anyone know a way to get Microsoft to re-send that email verification
mail?

I am sure there is a general fix/document for this.
Have a few servers with errors on Veritas backup down to the Shadow Copy.
Veritas site just say Moving event logs can cause this or Low disk space
condition.
None of these apply
Any pointers appreciated as how to correct this.

- SBS >> DNS Resolution PathDear Newsgroup,
I have added DNS forwarders to our DNS setup. Now I would like to verify
that my resolution from the workstation is first being resolved to our SBS
Server, and then to the external DNS forwarders. A type of tracert for DNS
would help, if there is such a utility?

that demonstrates building Custom Report Items just displays an image. We
are looking to build a custom report item for a standard footer for all of
our reports. The custom report item would read the html at run-time.

The other computers had also XP
Now I tried rermote support and audio with
a computer under windows 2000
He is in a company network with unknown
firewall setings.
No audio possible. After several seconds
always the message "interrupted"
No remote support possible.
His computer does not have the menu point
"remote support" in the Messenger 6
On my computer was the message
"His computer does not have reomte support
or remote support is disabled"
How to solve this problem?

- SBS >> ClientApps folderI want to move the ClientApps folder from C: to D:. Can I just do this by
deleting the share, moving the folder, and then re-sharing it? Or will this
cause problems down the line? (It's an SBS2003).

I bought items on my credit card that were reimbursable for a project.
Marked them reimbursable, invoiced the client and have been paid. Fine to
here.
Then had to return some of the items. They were credited back to my credit
card. But, I can NOT mark them as reimbursable. Nor can I create a negative
dollar amount Misc. Item on a new invoice?
How do I credit my customer and properly handle this transaction?

new dell server running Windos Small Bussiness Server 2003. my network has no
internet axcess nor do i need any security as it is for imiging in a detal
office and the clients are only used by me for taking dental images,Dell
recommended this server.I can see and accesss all 5 computers from the server
and I can see all the clients and the server from each client computers but I
cannot access the server from the clients. I keep getting the error that
axcess is denied,there are no passwords on my network,do I need them? I have
added each client computer to the server through the Add Client computer
wizard and all user names through add users.What else do I need to do to get
axcess to shares on the server? Thanks in advance.

- SBS >> ForFiles command.Hello!
I have been trying to make this command work as the documentation describes.
The documentation, in this case, being the command line reference in the
SBS2003 help.
There seems to be a couple of "typos" in the documentation. In particular,
one example is: forfiles /p c:\ /s /m*.* /dt-01011993 /c"cmd /c echo @file
is quite old!" . The "dt" doesn't seem to work.
Also the "DD" in the date option doesn't seem to work but hardcoding a date
does work. When I try to extract file names for files that are a particular
age the results are unpredicatble.
My goal is to be able to perform a search in a given directory and
subdirectories for files that have changed in the last nn days. This can be
done interatively using the "start, search, files or folders" function but I
want to be able to generate a list from a batch file.
I would welcome any tips or comments.

In MS CRM 3.0, when i try to logged in as a crm admin and create contacts,
initially the "owner" of that contact is crm admin but once i save it
,"owner" is getting changed who is not even a crm user.

I am having difficulty calling the ConnMgrEstablishConnection function
through PInvoke which I hope somebody can assist with.
I have used the CMHelper project in the PPC2002SDK as a basis for this code.
The call to ConnMgrMapURL works fine, but when I try and call
ConnMgrEstablishConnection (via the EstablishConnection function below), I
get a NotSupportedException.
I suspect that it may be a problem with the ConnMgr_ConnectionInfo structure
(eg. data types). I had tried hWnd and lParam with Integer data type as well
with the same effect.
My call to ConnMgrConnectionStatus also achieves the same result but
possibly because I do not have a valid handle.

- Money >> Value by Investment Report BugHere's a problem I stumbled upon and it appears to affect both Money 2004
and 2005.
I'm trying to display a Pie Chart that shows the value of each of my
investments in a 401(k) account. I selected the "Portfolio by Investment
Type" report and customize it as follows:
1. Click Customize
2. Click on the Rows & Columns tab
3. Select "Subtotal by: None" (this selection makes it show each individual
fund or stock in your accounts)
4. Click on Account tab
5. Deselect all accounts except for the 401(k) account (this could be any
account you want to display that has multiple funds).
6. On the Chart tab, select "Pie"
The above should display a pie chart that shows slices for each fund in the
selected account. Instead it fails and returns to the original report with
all customization reset.
The workaround I've found that gets most of the way there, is to select two
accounts in step 5 above. The second account can be any account, even a
closed one. So I selected a closed account which gives me the report I want
with the only annoyance that the legend next to the pie lists the closed
account.
Must be a bug that has carried on for a long while.

- SVCS >> How do you put network server in "reportpath"?I have to compile my rendering application and access reports that are
no longer on my local computer, but I can't get the reportpath correct.
It used to be:
reportpath = "/reportserver/myreports/report1
Now it's on another server and is always invalid when you name the
server like:
reportpath = "http://otherserver/reportserver/myreports/report1
Any help is appreciated.

- Crm >> Linked activities for users??Is there anyway to see all the linked activities (sent/received email, etc)
for a User in CRM? For contacts, they have the activities tab. For Users, I
don't see anything. Do you have to go search the entire Activities list?

- SBS >> Exchange Snap-InI have had several issues since my installation of SBS
server. This server was installed in an existing domain
so I had to transfer the FSMO roles. The exisiting domain
has a backend exchange server with the SBS hosting the
front end. When I attempt to access the Exchange System
Manager MSC on the SBS I get a "Failed to initialize Snap-
In" error. The only documentation that I can find on this
is to ensure that a path statement is contained in the
environment variable section... which it is. Is there
another reason for this Snap-In not working?

there will be two Beat 07 groups, appearing in sequence according to the sort

Can anyone tell me how to get what I'm after? I have tried creating a

- Messanger >> 7.0 Release Freezes UpThe public beta of 7.0 did work great for me.
The Release version does not.
7.0 Release freezes on me everytime and I cannot even downgrade to an
older version.
I use Messenger for work and so do my clients and I hope that there is
a fix or that MS will put out a patch very soon.
I have heard that there maybe a an issue with routers and/or port
forwarding. If this is true, please post any information.
I am using a Netgear WGR614x4 router
