No email when creating new users ?

Information Technology7
Hi All,

I've had this problem for a few months now. Luckily

it hasn't been an urgent issue. This SBS2k3 server has

been in service for about 6 months. But now when I create

user accounts it won't create an associated email

account. So I add one manually to the user properties but

it doesn't appear in the GAL and trying to email the

address comes back as "unknown user". Also, no email

address shows up in the email address column on the

Server Management/Manage Users screen. I've tried

creating users with and without the aid of templates and

in both instances, when it gives a list of what it will

create for that user, an email alias is specified. Also,

it takes a minute or two to create the user. Originally

it took seconds.

Any help or insight is most appreciated !

Re:No email when creating new users ?

Hi Tony,

I believe this has been fixed in Exchange SP1.

Temporary fixes:

a) restart the MS Exchange System Attendant service.

or

b) from Start | run>enter cmd to get a dos box, and run iisreset.

Permanent fix:

Install Exchange 2003 SP1.
