Crm >> Microsoft CRM 3.0 / Virtual PC Demo Download from Microsoft Hi all,
i have a question about the Virtual PC Demo of CRM 3.0 that you can download
from Microsoft.

I downloaded this at Microsoft to play around with MS CRM and to test some
things.
This Virtual PC Image with CRM runs until June or July 2007.
Now i have the question if there is a chance to have this running until the
end of 2007.
Is the limitation in the Virtual PC Image or the Server or in CRM ?
We have here a valid CRM license with our MSDN so can i install this in this
VPC image to have this running until the end of the year ?

Greetings
Henning

Crm >> Microsoft CRM 3.0 / Virtual PC Demo Download from Microsoft H.Bach,

Why would you not want to do it this way? Why would you not just install the
server on your own? Don't forget that it is not just CRM that is on that
demo but also Windows Server, Exchange and a number of other products.

Crm >> Microsoft CRM 3.0 / Virtual PC Demo Download from Microsoft Hi Jeff,
well the reason is that we don't use MS CRM here at our company.
I will do some guerilla tactics here.
I want to implement an application for NPO organizations (in my free time).
When it's ready i want to show it to my boss and say :
"Well look at this... isn't it a cool application ?? It's based on MS CRM.
So why don't we use it as a Dev tool for our apps ?"

Thats the reason.
To setup a server for this with all the stuff... it makes to much waves
here...
You understand what i mean ?

I have to cook it on a small flame...

Crm >> Microsoft CRM 3.0 / Virtual PC Demo Download from Microsoft Henning,

Ok I understand. You will be able to redownload a new demo in the future.
Just realize that you will have tro go through the work of moving it over in
a few months. Alternatively you could use your licenses and do a VPC
install. That is probably a better solution. The install will take you 4-10
hours depending on your skill and system performance. You will easily use
that much time six months from now trying to move your data so I susggest
you do it now first and do it right.

Crm >> Microsoft CRM 3.0 / Virtual PC Demo Download from Microsoft Henning,

What about creating your own VirtualPC image? You can then use it as long as
you want and it doesn't require a separate server. You will need appropriate
licenses, but if you can get to a CRM key, I suspect that you also have
access to Windows and SQL server keys.
