- Crm >> Microsoft CRM 1.2 on Windows 2003 locks up/unstableHi,
We recently added additional server to the CRM environment. We have been
runnning CRM 1.2 for about 2+ years on Windows 2000 environment with no
issues. This is IIS 5. We have done some cusomizations and CRM SDK
developments too. On windows 2003, we are running into issues. This runs on
IIS 6.
Once in a while the webserver does not respond. After lot of research, I
found out it is most likely the worker processes that lock up because of
exhausting the threads available. Has anyone run into issues of this nature?
What is the remedy?
Thanks,
Ramesh

- SVCS >> Sum of distinct Counts.Hi,
I have a recordset like this .
name=n1, content=a, item=a1, id=a11, count=3, contents=a111
name=n1, content=a, item=a1, id=a11, count=3, contents=a112
name=n1, content=a, item=a1, id=a12, count=3, contents=a211
name=n1, content=a, item=a1, id=a12, count=3, contents=a212
name=n1, content=a, item=a1, id=a13, count=3, contents=a113
name=n1, content=a, item=b1, id=b11, count=2, contents=b111
name=n1, content=a, item=b1, id=b12, count=2, contents=b112
name=n1, content=a, item=c1, id=c11, count=1, contents=c111
name=n1, content=b, item=bc1, id=bc11, count=1, contents=c111
I have to show above data as
name content item id count contents
n1 Xn
a Xc
a1 3
a11
a111
a112
a12
a211
a212
a13
a113
b1 2
b11
b111
b12
b112
c1 1
c11
c111
b Xc
bc1 1
bc11
c111
As you can see count displays the count of distinct id appearing in each item.
My problem is that I have to show sum of this count at content and name
group level.
i.e. the count marked as Xc will be sum of distinct id which are displayed
i.e. Xc=3+2+1 =6.
Similiarily Xn will be sum of all Xc i.e. (Xc for content a and Xc for
content b and so on if there are more contents)
in this case Xn will be 6+1=7.
I have tried but so far I am not able to get it accurate. i.e. I am not able
achieve this Sum of Distinct Counts. Any Ideas on how to do it ? Any Custom
Code or Sample will be of great Help.
Please help its urgent.
Thanks and Regards

- Crm >> CRM Integration for Great Plains V1.2 Restored GP database issueWonder if anyone has experienced the same problem.
I have setup CRM 1.2 and Great Plains 7.5 in a test environment.
If I do a clean installation of Great Plains using the sample company
(two) and then install the CRM Integration, when I then create a
Debtor Account in Great Plains it goes through to CRM. This is fine.
If I go through the whole process again, meaning I load CRM, then load
Great Plains using a RESTORED company database and then finally load
the CRM Integration, then when I create a Debtor Account in Great
Plains it does not go through to CRM. It does generate a whole bunch
of documents in Biztalk Server, but they never get delivered.
In both cases above, if I create an Account in CRM it does pull
through to Great Plains.
I can only think that it has something to do with the fact that I am
using a restored Great Plains database.
I have checked all obvious causes such as permissions on all the
relevant databases and the database owners etc.
Hope that someone can respond with assistance.

We seem to be having an issue with Outlook Mass Mailings.
If I close out of CRM and clear out the cookies etc., then close and
reopen Outlook, then I can use the Mail Merge functionality. If
I have CRM open or work in CRM, I lose the mail merge.
The same thing happens with the CRM Settings - I have to be
aware that I lose the ability to access the template
functionality if I have been in Outlook trying to use the mail merge.
Does any one know how I can fix this?

It then asks me if I want to do this now, I click yes.
The next message shows "The email address or password is incorrect please

It seems my file is locked.
I tried opening on a different computer, the same messages.
I tried my back-up files, the same messages.
I used the file December 25 at 8:41 P.M., updated, backed it up, closed it,

Any ideas?
Thank you.

When I return the result the report is fine, but if I try to drill down into
an order, the screen flashes (as in a refresh), and then pushes the item I
opened to the top of the screen. It seems to be re-querying the database on
every click into the drilldown. Even though the result set is not large,
it's drawing it from a production database, and it takes several seconds to
complete the query.
Is it requerying, or is there a display issue? We're in the early stages of
using reporting services and it's currently running on an underpowered
machine for the server. Still, the result set has already been returned, and
shouldn't have to be drawn from the DB every time you drill down into a
single order.
Any ideas?

Crm >> Microsoft CRM 3.0 / Virtual PC Demo Download from Microsoft
Hi all,
i have a question about the Virtual PC Demo of CRM 3.0 that you can download
from Microsoft.
I downloaded this at Microsoft to play around with MS CRM and to test some
things.
This Virtual PC Image with CRM runs until June or July 2007.
Now i have the question if there is a chance to have this running until the
end of 2007.
Is the limitation in the Virtual PC Image or the Server or in CRM ?
We have here a valid CRM license with our MSDN so can i install this in this
VPC image to have this running until the end of the year ?
Greetings
Henning

H.Bach,
Why would you not want to do it this way? Why would you not just install the
server on your own? Don't forget that it is not just CRM that is on that
demo but also Windows Server, Exchange and a number of other products.

Crm >> Microsoft CRM 3.0 / Virtual PC Demo Download from Microsoft
Hi Jeff,
well the reason is that we don't use MS CRM here at our company.
I will do some guerilla tactics here.
I want to implement an application for NPO organizations (in my free time).
When it's ready i want to show it to my boss and say :
"Well look at this... isn't it a cool application ?? It's based on MS CRM.
So why don't we use it as a Dev tool for our apps ?"
Thats the reason.
To setup a server for this with all the stuff... it makes to much waves
here...
You understand what i mean ?
I have to cook it on a small flame...

Henning,
Ok I understand. You will be able to redownload a new demo in the future.
Just realize that you will have tro go through the work of moving it over in
a few months. Alternatively you could use your licenses and do a VPC
install. That is probably a better solution. The install will take you 4-10
hours depending on your skill and system performance. You will easily use
that much time six months from now trying to move your data so I susggest
you do it now first and do it right.

Henning,
What about creating your own VirtualPC image? You can then use it as long as
you want and it doesn't require a separate server. You will need appropriate
licenses, but if you can get to a CRM key, I suspect that you also have
access to Windows and SQL server keys.

- Compact >> Stupid ComboBox event problemHi,
I cannot figure out why no ComboBox events are firing in my project.
I'm very new to .NET CF programming, so I might be missing something
obvious.
The event handler for "SelectedIndexChanged" gets fired when I first
set the DataSource of the ComboBox, but when I click on the ComboBox
in the emulator, no event handlers get called. Out of desparation,
I've added handlers to SelectedIndexChanged, KeyPress, KeyDown,
LostFocus, and MouseDown, but none of the handler fire.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

- SBS >> Restricting C drive folders on 6 public computers in a labCould someone please assist me in sharing some information on how to restrict
rights to read only to most folders on a user computer for say the Users
group and having full access to my documents only. This needs to take place
on 6 machines and I do not want to set permissions individually. I am told
it will work through a login script. Your help is appreciated.

- SBS >> virtual labsProbably not the right place for this post, so someone please guide me in the
right direction.
I did a few of the virtual labs, very cool learning environment, but
most of them are "expired". This is crazy, Microsoft lists them here,
http://rss.microsoftvirtuallabs.com/WindowsServer/rss.aspx
but they dont work when you go there, registration has expired. Why list
them at all if we can't use them?
Does anyone have a link to some SBS virtual labs that actually work?
</vent> ok I feel better now, but still want some labs!!

- SBS >> SQL Server Registry Key SecurityRunning Baseline Security Analyzer I have the following:
Instance: MSFW
This check ensures that the Everyone group is restricted to Read permission
for the following registry keys:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\MSSQLServer
If the Everyone group has more than Read permission to these keys, it will
be flagged in the security scan report as a high-level vulnerability.
How do I correct this as the explanation from 'How to correct this' doesn't
help?

- Crm >> MSCRM time out?Hi, does anyone know if the product has a time_out
functionality? especially on the web client..
MSCRM is per user license, For exampple the client only
bought 1 named license, does it mean 2 users can log in to
the system using the same login account?
Thanks =)

- Crm >> Import / Export Customization IssueI create many customizations, including new objects, new attributes, changned
views, changed ass. views, etc.
When I export and import into another CRM enviroment, all changes happen
except the form and associated view changes. For example if I change the
form (details tab) to have 3 fields only, after the export / import the
details tab is back to the default install?
Any way to tell what is happening?

- SVCS >> Error rendering subreport in tableHello there.
First some informations:
The Report shows informations about server from our customers. There
will be one report per customer. One Customer can have 1 or more
servers. I get all servers from a customer with DataSet1. The result is
one column with one or more rows (example "Server1", "Server2"...).
Its a really big report so i put all objects in subreport and in the
"toplevel"-report i repeat the subreport for each row i get and set the
column as parameter (which is defined in subreport).
Heres my problem:
if i put the subreport direct into the report and set a fix value for
the server-parameter it works fine. if i put the subreport in table i
get the followin error:
"[rsErrorExecutingSubreport] An error occurred while executing the
subreport 'subreport13': Object reference not set to an instance of
an object."
There must be a problem using the table. Funny thing is in this
subreport i do the same procedure with another subreport and it works
fine. I've "copy&past" the table from the subreport to
"toplevel"-report. No chance.
Can someone help me?
Thanks in advance, Tobi
