SBS >> Users getting locked out We have a problem at my company where users keep getting
locked out. We have things set up so that after 6 tries
the account is locked out, but for some random reason
users (many of whom are already logged into our domain)
keep getting randomly locked out. The Security event log
Event number 539 and 529 where the Source Network Address
is 217.80.46.251
We have even had a user get locked out that does not have
our Lockout policy in effect.
Do we have a trojan causing this?
Has anyone else heard of or had this problem before?

SBS >> Users getting locked out Hi Mark,

it can be any number of things. E.g. old password used to map network
shares, trojan etc.

You can try and use this Microsoft tool (free download) to pinpoint the
service that is causing the problem.

Account Lockout and Management Tools
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=7AF2E69C-91F3-4E63-8629-B999ADDE0B9E&displaylang=en

Check out documentation first (specially part about not installing this tool
on Exchange if you have it).

I hope this helps,

Mike
