- Crm >> Rollup 2 installed, Help/About still says 3.0.5300.0We have installed the Rollup 2 update on two separate computers. Each time
the install seems to complete successfully. Unfortunately the Help/About
version number does not change.
One of the laptops being installed (or not?) still receives the saInsert
error message when doing an Offline sync, which was supposed to fix the
problem. Am I to conclude the Rollup install failed? What are my other
options to apply the rollup?
Thanks,

- Money >> updating from 2003 to 2007I'm thinking of updating from 2003 to 2007.
Question: Is it possible to run the Trial Version and the 2003 version at
the same time or until I decide to buy 2007 and put on my computer?

- Compact >> What classes does CF.NET support?Hi,
Last night I was trying to append to a text file. After popping the
buzzwords into google I was directed to the MSDN site and I happily
coded away using an example as reference with File.Append.
It turns out File.Append is part of the full .NET and not the CF.NET
subset.
How can I restrict my searches for classes within CF.NET?
Is there no support in CF.NET for Perl's most excellant line-oriented
reading/writing, or is this the preferred way to create/append to a
file:
private void saveDetails(string client)
{
Stream s;
try
{
s = new FileStream(FILE_NAME, FileMode.Append);
}
catch (Exception e)
{
MessageBox.Show("cannot open file " + FILE_NAME + ": " +
e.ToString());
return;
}
for (int i = 0; i < client.Length; i++)
{
byte b;
b = (byte) client[i];
s.WriteByte(b);
}
s.Close();
lblSaveError.Text = "record saved";
}
Thanks,
Joe.

- SVCS >> Upper limit for Multi-Value parameter in SQL 2005I am using multi-value parameter in SQL 2005. The base query uses the
parameter as
"where column in @paramname"
I don't have any problems in VS environment, but I seem to hit an upper limit
problem when the report is deployed and I view the report on
http://reportserver. When i chose the "Select All", the report simply does
not display anything. When the number of parameter values is reduced, it
starts working.
Is there an upper limit to the number of values / length of IN string that
IIS can handle?
Has anyone else faced this problem? How can we work around it?
thank you!

created in a seperate store. However, SBS 2003 only seems to support
one store. So, if I place the journal mailbox in the store that is

- Money >> MSN Billpay accounts in MSN MoneyRegarding the documented issue of MSN Billpay accounts not merging with
the appropriate checking account in the My Accounts section of MSN
Money, has there been any progress correcting this? Is there any way
to avoid this?
I use MS Money instead of other products so I can get to my data online
from other computers, but this bug is driving me crazy. I'm about to
move to my bank's billpay service, but if a solution is coming down the
pipe in a few weeks, I'll wait on that.

Unfortunately CRM doesnt seem to allow any customisation of the Case

Anyone found a way round this?
Thanks

I would like to create new folder in Sales for Outlook tree ? Is that
possible ?
For instance under Microsoft CRM node, i would like to create a new folder

Does anyone know how can i do that ?
Thanks,

- SBS >> Cannot access desktopI cannot figure out what I'm missing.
I purchased two laptops to remotely access the SBS server.
Both computers work fine using the internal wireless connection. However, if
I switch to the wireless broadband PCMCIA card (through Verizon), I can only
connect to e-mail and cannot access the desktop.
The familiar message received is: The client could not establish a
connection to the remote computer.
Likely causes, remote connections not enabled at remote, etc..etc..
This wireless card is configured like a modem. Does anyone have experience
with this connection and SBS2003 and hopefully tell me where I'm not looking?
Or.. can you tell me what direction I need to take with the Verizon help
tech? Thanks!

- SVCS >> Design componentsIs there any way that report design components can be hosted within a
winforms application for both on and offline use?
Or
Is there any way to run reportbuilder against a local model without
attaching to Reporting Services?
I would perfer to be able to do the former to host report design
capabilities within my application. Reporting services appears to have a lot
of hooks and flexibility in most other areas except this.
I would like to see the report design capabilities opened up so that I could
provide this capability to my clients for both on and off line use. And yes I
could develop this capability myself using various definitions but would
rather not have to spend the time reinventing the wheel when the capabilities
have already been developed, they are just not exposed for use.

- Compact >> Treeview loading with BeginUpdate&EndUpdateHi there~
As is known to all, the Treeview::BeginUpdate/EndUpdate method is used
to update or reload the treeview without redrawing the treenode one by
one,and it can save some performance for us.But here i'm writing an
example that,however,doesn's make any difference with or without these
two method.Here's my code:
public partial class Form1 : Form
{
public Form1()
{
InitializeComponent();
}
void TestTreeViewLoad(bool async)
{
int start = Environment.TickCount;
int end = 0;
//
// Use the BeginUpdate/EndUpdate asynchronized or not?
//

Money >> Money 2004 Aliases
Used to be when my transactions downloaded, if I placed
my mouse over the orange transaction, it would show the
actual name of the original transaction. Now it just
assigns the alias, and will not show the original.
Any way to change that back? Sometimes it gets it wrong.

- SVCS >> Multi value Drill through from matrixI have a matrix that counts Events over a period of time. Each Cell
contains the Counts of the events for a particular date period
Q1 Q2 Q3
Cust-a 4 44 22
Cust-b 3 42 12
Cust-c 15 34 55
If I click on the cell for Cust-a/Q2 I want the Drillthrough report to
display the details for all 44 events for Cust-a for Q2.
I woud like to build a multi-valued parameter from the 44 IDs in the
rows that applied to that cell and pass that on to the drillthrough
report.
Can I do this and how? If not is there an alternative with hidden rows
or something like that?
Thanks

- SBS >> Mail dont going to several domains.I am getting those messages:
Warning this is an SMTP protocol error log for virtual server ID 1,
connection #7. The remote host "38.100.178.22" responded to the SMTP
command "rcpt" with "553 sorry, that address cannot accept mail from an
unresolved IP address ". The full command sent was "RCPT TO :<
address> ". This will probably cause the connection to fail.
A non-delivery report with a status code of 5.5.0 was generated for
recipient rfc822;name@domain.com (Message-ID
<229FD22DD2C455499970C873900E0654AD82B1@SERVER.domain.com>).
Cause: This message indicates a generic protocol error (SMTP error).
For example, the remote SMTP responds to an issued EHLO with a 500
level error and the sending system will QUIT the connection and report
this with NDR indicating the remote SMTP server can=C6t handle the
protocol.
Solution: View the SMTP log or run a netmon trace to see why the
remote SMTP server rejects the protocol request.
Another problem that i cannot send messages to one specific domain
threw one of my ISP, from another one no problem. Message delivery to
the host '152.180.6.25' failed while delivering to the remote domain
'tas.alcatel.ca' for the following reason: The remote server did
not respond to a connection attempt and the connection was dropped by
the remote host.
what i can check to resolve that problem

- SBS >> exclusive access to folders questionI have redirected folders and given the users exclusive access to them, now
I want to create a job that copies their contents to a USB drive, using
robocopy from the reskit. I get access denied on their folders.
I created an account that is a member of backup operators (who have read,
list contents, read & execute) to the folders but I still can't copy them,
and my backup jobs fail too on those folders.
I want users to have exclusive access, but I need to create an account that
can copy these files to another disk for safe keeping! How can I set that
up?

- Compact >> Cannot get audio resourceHello,
I am developing PocketPC application in VS2005.
I defined audio resource BeepSound using project properties. When I want to
get resource using MyApp.Properties.Resources.BeepSound in C#, the byte array
is returned, it has the correct length, but contains only binary zeros
instead of the sound.
Sound is played correctly from resource editor in VS, and regardless of
the Persistence property, the I can see the sound correctly included in the
resulting executable.
I can succesfully get BMP images this way in PPC application.
I also tried to do similar thing in full Windows Application, and it works
correctly, but there I am getting audio resource as UnmanagedMemoryStream
instead of byte[] as in Compact Framework project.
The ResXFileCodeGenerator tool generates this access method:
internal static byte[] BeepSound {
get {
object obj = ResourceManager.GetObject("BeepSound",
resourceCulture);
return ((byte[])(obj));
}
}
, but object retrieved contains all zeroes, though length seems correct.
What is wrong? Bug in ResourceManager? Or am I doing something wrong.
Thank you

- Crm >> Problems Importing Leads into CRM 3.0Guys,
Having a problem importing Leads. I have created a CSV file
like always, gone through and linked all source fields with CRM fields,
and then completed the mapping...i then hit finish and look at it in My
Activities, Bulk Imports...and it says Pending, No. of Successes = 0
No. of Failures = 0. There are 2000 odd records in the file...
I saw a post from John O'Donnell and have copied it in below. This i
have tried but to no avail. Does anyone else have any suggestions?
Many thanks in advance
Ben
The bulk import tool use the workflow service. Try setting the account
for
that service to localsystem then restart the service and try the import
again

- Crm >> Exchange Router CRM 3.0 Not InstallingI am trying to Install the Exchange Router.
The documentation just says the it needs to have Windows 2003 Standard and
Exchange Server 2003.
(Plus the other requirements which we have)
When I try to install it will not let me saying that Operating System
version 5.2 (Which is Windows 2003 Standard) is not a supported operating
system.
My guess is this is a documentation bug and that the router now requires
Windows 2003 SP1 just like the MS CRM server requires it now with RTM code.
Does anyone have an official answer to what is required to install the
router. I have a client who really does not want to have to quickly
upgrade there exchange servers to Windows 2003 SP1 in the next month just to
get MS CRM installed in production.
Thanks

- SBS >> Spam ProblemWe have suddenly started to get hundreds of spams addressed to fake
addresses on our domain - (e.g. dflmt@ourdomain.co.uk,
dflms@ourdomain.co.uk, john@ourdomain.co.uk ). All are from spoofed senders.
We have SBS2003, and collect mail via a global pop account. The exchange is
dealing with the spam effectively, but is slowed by the sheer volume of spam
hitting the global box.
What I would like to find out is whether there is any way of identifying the
source (bot?) of the fake mails.
Can anyone suggest anything?

- SVCS >> Hiding field by asking if another field is emptyHello,
I need to hide a field (or retangle) by asking if another field in the
report, like text field (or some other entity i can create on the fly,
that is not a Data field)
for eg:
I create a text field in a retangle.
The text field include expression that determine what data to display,
if any.
I want to hide the retangle if the text field if empty.
So, can i use in an expression somthing other then a Data field or a
Parameter?
Thanks in advance,

- Messanger >> Bad transfer rate fixed in Live Messenger?Still on the latest MSN Messenger 7 cause I don't like the whole Live
concept one bit ... but maybe going to Live Messenger but only to get the
transfer rates of downloads fixed. That is if that bug is fixed? I tried
everything I did find and what was mentioned here: changed setting on my
system, settings in modem and so on. But with around half the peeps I have
on my list the transfer rates for downloads are terrible and worse. Slowness
hell.
Transfering 800 Kb for example takes over 5 minutes even though I am on a
6000 kbps DSL connection and the other parties also on fast connections.
So, is this bug fixed with Live Messenger?
