I am trying to learn the L2TP VPN setup with SBS 2003 by reading through the
Microsoft SBS 2003 admin manual.
I have install IAS and it says to increase security I need to alter the
Remote Access Policy, but the policy I need to edit is the Small Business
Remote Access Policy, which is not there. I have both the "Connections to"
policies but not the one preiviously mentioned or the Wireless Access to
internal network. Have I missed something for this to not be available?

1400 characters but in reporting services report view i can only give 1200
characters. Kindly let me know how do i resolve this issue.

field (attribute), I hit apply and then okay but it does not change.
I can make the change in the properties page for the attribute but the
change never takes.

This is after fixing the other problem I had with the backup configuration
and Les suggested http://support.microsoft.com/?id=823379 (applied on the
10th), which worked. The scheduled backup on the 11th completed
successfully. The next scheduled backup failed with the error noted above. I
get no returns from the KB on this failure, neither for "LaunchNTBackup
failed" or 0x8007007a. No backup file was created.

Mentions a Hotfix from PSS but correspondent says it didn't help.
Another thread, on this SBS group, has Steven Zhu insisting that the error
could only occur in a non-English SBS, which is false. No resolution.
The third is of no help, either.
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=831664 doesn't seem to apply. We are
backing up to an external HD, not to tape. A few other threads that mention
this error likewise do not apply, I think, since none of the symptoms or
conditions match.
Looking through this thread, http://tinyurl.com/y439f8, I'm wondering if the
updating/patching I did to TrendMicro NeatSuite (specifcally to CSM for SMB)
had anything to do with it, but that was all done *before* the
reconfiguration and successful completion on the 11th.
1. SBS Backup seems to be problematic. Any suggestions for a more reliable
solution?
2. Trend Micro is on my official shit-list. Weeks go by in order to solve
one problem via email, updating is *not* automatic (have to go looking for
patches, there's no notification that they exist), NeatSuite isn't Neat at
all, there being no consolidated info in the TM Support pages, have to go
looking for the pieces... Telephone support is a shambles to get into, with
the initial support phone menu not actually listing ISVW for SMB... It goes
on and on and on...

I am facing a problems at my office. When some of the Outlook Offline
Clients schedule their appointments in outlook the record which system keeps
in CRM Database changes the time of these appointments.
I believe some Time Zone difference is creating all this problem, but i have
verified it on both Server and Client end. And time zone for both locations
is same.
If someone can hint something it will be highly appriciated.

printing to an Oneil 8i dot matrix printer.
My Problem is that I cannot send control characters to the printer,
control characters like Line Feed , Top of Page etc .

I run Windows XP Home Edition. My Outlook version 6
defaults to use MSN 4.7 when I launch Outlook. I've
downloaded MSN version 5 and it runs on my system
alongside version 4.7 !! I can't find a way to remove
4.7 or to get Outlook to recognise and use version 5 and
to ditch version 4.7.
Does anyone know how to do this ? I also tried to remove
4.7 through "Add, remove windows components" but that
didn't work. 4.7 is still on my system.

We are using an external mailhotel as backup mail server, and we are then
using the POP3 connector to get mail from the mailhotel regularly.
Unfortunately the mailhotel is not that reliable, so the POP3 connector
fails getting mail a few time every day. It is not a big problem, because
the POP3 connector will just try to connect again later.
However every failed connection results in a critical error in the Event
log, and this results in a message in the Server Performance Report that I
receive by email every day.
Is there any way to filter out these messages before they end up in the
Server Performance Report?

I have a CRM 1.2 deployment (soon to be v 3.0) that I need to update with
some custom fields. I have these two fields in "Opportunity" that pull from
the same "Account" field (accountid). I cannot seem to be able to pick the
accountid field for a second mapping. Does that mean 1:M mapping is not
available in version 1.2, or am I missing something?

I am trying to reinstall the monitoring component after problems accessing
the database. The setup starts, installs MSDE and then removes it again. All
I get is
MSI (s) (54:A4): Note: 1: 1708
MSI (s) (54:A4): Product: Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine --
Installation operation failed.
I browsed through the log files but could not make out any reason why the
setup fails. How can I troubleshoot this?

I "think" it is probably trying to create a new database, and your old one
still exists. You may have to manually delete, rename, or move the old
database first.

I was going though the procedure to delete the old database (deleting the
keys in the registry, deleting the directory under Microsoft SQL server). Am
I missing something out ?

I have the fallowing topology: a SBS 2003 premium is License server, another
w2k3 ent (member) is TS server.The TS server has discover the SBS license
server (according with registry entries). The sbs license server is activated
and has installed 10 ts user cals. Users are able to connect to ts server,
but in license server tool , at ts user cal line, on issued column there is
no change. No matter how many clients are connecting (i tested 2 only), the
issued column stay at 0. On the temporary device license is only one entry,
my station, in rest no change.
This is normal?

and date that a note was entered, but the text will be missing. This has

Never had a problem with the balance column in my checking account
register.
All of the sudden, this morning, my running balances were way off.
Changed register view to "all dates"/"all transactions" and that fixed
the problem.
But the problem reoccurs when I switch the register view back to the
way it was.
In advance, I appreciate any and all help I can get with this issue.

I use a very popular French program (Outclock) to see my Webmail and to
eliminate spam etc before downloading my emails.
Many of us (me included), can no longer use Outclock due to a Winsocket
error after having installed Messenger 7.5.
I have tried to repair my Winsocks but apparently, they are ok.
Can anyone shed light on this problem?
What does MSN 7.5 install, unisnstall or change that may cause this problem?

using the Multimedia API. I succesfully P/Invoke the
following:
waveOutOpen - Open the wave file
waveOutPause - Pause the playing
waveOutRestart - Restart after pausing
waveOutWrite - Start the wave file
For some reason when I P/Invoke waveOutReset nothing
happens.
Here is the P/Invoke:

public static extern int waveOutReset
(IntPtr hWaveOut);
The return value is 0 which means success but the wave
file does not stop playing. I pass the hWaveOut created
using waveOutOpen.
Does anyone have any ideas?

The Event Log is full of the following warnings, can anyone advise me what
is not working and how I can correct this problem please?

I have a proplem on Best and Worst Perfomers. Even though i have Closed

Top Gainers and Top Losers still shows investments that have no current
prices and are in fact closed.
How to i get them off so thery are not reported. one of the items on my
list shows a 4.8 % gain for a price that has not been updated in 3 years...

- Crm >> HTTP 403 ErrorI have installed CRM 3.0 on a SBS 2003 SP1 running SQL 2005. The install was
successful without any errors.
All of the utilities are working without error. i.e. Deployment Manager,
Workflow manager, workflow monitor etc. The Environment Diagnostics Wizard
runs showing no errors as well.
CRM 3.0 has been setup utilizing port 5555. I have also set up CRM as a
virtual directory under the default web site. i.e. http://myserver/CRMWeb
The problem I am having is accessing CRM using IE.
When I try to access the site through either
http://myserver:5555/MSCRMServices as recommended on the documentation or
through the virtual web site http://myserver/CRMWeb/MSCRMServices I get the
following error message:

- Crm >> Unblock email button in MS CRM 3.0Hi,
When I view an email that has been tracked in CRM 3.0 (with update
rollout 2.0) there is a message that says "the email below might
contain script or content that is potentially harmful and has been
blocked'
Of course I may click unblock - however I have a requirement where I
need this disabled by default.
Upon testing I have minimised all IE (v7) browser settings and have
had no success.
Has anyone come across this as a solution or does anyone know if this
is hard coded by Microsoft ?
I have searched for registry entries however can only find
'UnblockedTargetrUrl' on the client pc. This defaults to 0, if I
change to 1 this has no affect.
I have seen a couple requests posted on newsgroups however without
reply.
I have the CRM server in the Intranet zone.(fyi)
Any help most appreiciated.

I have a iPaq 3850 running PPC 2002 trying to connect to a 2003 SBS without
success, it does dial out, connect, start authenticating and right away it
does disconnect.
This does not happen with an iPaq 2215 running PPC 2003
The same device worked flawless when connecting to a win2K server
Has anybody see this problem and more important have a solution for it?
Except the obvious one of upgrade to 2003 :)
