- Crm >> Workflow operation on a CaseHi,
To give you some background, we will be using the Case entity in the
following way:
A customer calls us with goods to be repaired.
The person taking the call fills out a case form and saves it.
When it is saved, it is assigned to the service department manager.
When the goods arrive here, the date it has arrived is entered into a field
and then saved.
An activity is generated for the tech dept manager to go and assign the case
to whomever is appropriate.
I can have some code in the "on save event" of the form that will re-assign
the case to the manager based on some parameters, so it doesn't do that
every time the form is saved. That works well.
The problem is the step where the goods have arrived and the date received
is entered. I can't trigger a workflow from that situation.
Is there some way I can work around this?
I have created a workflow to react when the case is cancelled. It creates
the activity and sets the case to active again. This works, but the
cancellation process needs to be automated, rather than having the person
entering the date cancel the case manually.
I have tried using code to change the form status to cancelled when the date
received field is entered. The status does change successfully, but when the
form is saved the status is not updated and still shows as active and so the
workflow does not trigger.
This is the code I use to change the form status.
crmForm.all.statecode.Disabled = 0;
crmForm.all.statecode.DataValue = 2;
I don't understand why it won't save with a changed status. Perhaps this is
by design in CRM.
Does anyone know of a different way I can resolve this? Is there some way to
trigger a workflow from an on change event?

I can't find anything wrong with the tasks he is trying to edit.
Does anyone know if the problem could be caused by e.g. a slow link? I can't
think of anything else that could be causing the problem.

Windows XP, version 2002, service pack 2
Norton Antivirus 2005 Version 11.0.9.16
Messenger REGULARLY logs us out - could be in mid-conversation or if we have
been idle for a couple of minutes.
This only happens on this new laptop that we have - our other computers are
running the same version of Messenger but on Windows 98 SP2.
Any help with this frustrating problem would be greatly appreciated.

I installed reporting services and worked by ReportBuilder, an
excellent tool for end-user to create own report from a model.
But how can I localize this great tool ?
ReportBuilder is a big exe file (5 MB) and there is no resource to
localize by winres for example, can I extract resources by ildasm,
localize them and then recomplie it or is there any other way to do
that ?

Messenger. I have a PC running Win 98SE and she has a G4
Powerbook running OS 10.2.6 (but she can also run Classic -
OS 9). I have Messenger 6.0 and my webcam seems to work
fine, and she's running Messenger 3.5 but she can't seem
to find a menu command that pertains to webcams. Is there
a newer version of Messenger for Mac than 3.5? If not, is
there anything else we can do?

- Crm >> Email router occasionnally freezingEmail router seems to be working fine. BUT, occasionnally we get CRM
Outlook clients experience freezing. This usually happens once every
2 to 3 days, never at the same time. When these events happen, users
are usually jammed for at least 30 to 45 minutes, even though they
restart their computers/laptops. In the event viewer there is always
an error:

If I stop and restart the MSCRMExRouterService, situation immediately
comes back to normal.
Anyone know about tweeking that can be done? I don't think it's a
configuration issue since it works properly most of the time.
I have decreased the time-out Reg key from 60 secs to 10 secs, and
added auto restart of service upon failure but this has not changed
anything!

- Crm >> Customer (non-domain user) web interface?Hi all
I'm testing CRM3.0 (Small Business Edition) as a possible helpdesk solution
and it seems to me that there is no way to give clients access to a simple
web interface that would allow them to view their open tickets.
Of course I can create full-blown users but surely that shouldn't be
necessary? Am I missing this somehow?

- SBS >> Hard Drive Failing/Starting to failI'm running SBS2003 Standard on an IBM Eserver. The server has a single 40 GB
boot drive with sbs2003 (Windows Server and Exchange) on it and another drive
100 GB for data which doesn't have much on it. I'm starting to see errors in
the system log that states that there maybe a bad block on the hdd. I believe
that itâ??s referring to the boot drive C. All the company's critical data is
on another local win2000 server and is being backed up with Backup exec 9.
The only thing thatâ??s on the sbs box is mainly the user accounts and exchange
mailboxes.
The server runs slow when I hit the drive. i.e.: If I try to copy something
off the drive and sometimes it will time out. I also noticed If I run a
defrag analyze the drive is really fragmented. I didn't defrag it because I
was unsure if it would do any damage to my exchange files.
Whatâ??s the best way to fix my drive?
Can I?
- Move the exchange data to another drive? Reconfigure another hdd with
sbs2003 with all the same settings?
- Some how make a ghost copy of the boot drive to another drive
- Stick another drive in and make a mirror? Then replace the bad drive.
- Just run defrag/scandisk and fix the drive?
- ?????
The server is up and running now. Users donâ??t seem to be affected (yet)
except the one user whose pst archive was on that hard drive and I think got
corrupted.
Any ideas would be great.

- SBS >> How to Set SMTP to new ISPIn SBS 2000 Exchange, how do I set the SMTP to another service
provider?
We just moved our office and have a new ISP. However, some of our
outgoing messages are kicking back because this ISP seems to be blocked
on some mail systems.
Note that we use IGetMail to fetch our POP3 boxes, but I don't think
this has anything to do with outgoing mail.

- SBS >> I'm Receiving All Users EmailPlease point me in the right direction to look. Anytime an email is sent to
one of my users I receive it too. This only happens when an email is sent
from outside the network. Using POP 3, global mail box and I have the
routing rules set up properly. SBS 2003, XP Pro clients, Trend C/S/M.
I've posted this problem before and still no help. Someone said to look and
make sure I didn't have my email address in the users properties. I check
that. I added a new user last week and I get everything she receives. I
work on my client as administrator and have full domain rights.

- SVCS >> Bar / Line Chart issue - incorrect data point - very urgentI have run into a very strange situation and have been unable to locate
the cause of the problem. Running SQL Reporting Services 2000 and
pulling data from an Oracle db for this specific report.
The report is very simple. A bar chart with 2 data sets. One
represented as bars, the other represented as a line. Below the chart
is a table with the text representation of the data being used for the
chart.
On the chart, the data is displayed using the same y-axis scale.
For some reason when I run a report for a specific set of criteria I
get the correct data in the table, but the graph is messed up. The
2nd data point for my line has a value of 39.30 but the line on the
chart draws up to the 120 mark. The strange thing is that the marker
icon shows the value of 39.30.
My data looks something like this:
Bar Line
39.30 39.30
0 39.30
56.50 43.90
17.50 41.40
All of the points on the line show the correct value and are in the
right position except for the 2nd point. It shows the correct value
at the point, but the line shoots up to the 120 mark on the y-axis.
I have tried this running it both on the server and also in DebugLocal
mode on my development system.
I need to get this resolved ASAP for the executive management team.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

- SBS >> Email setup for multiple domains when ISP offers dynamic addressI have three domains for which I'd like to receive email on my SBS 2003 R2.
I am receiving email for one of the domains, say a.net, on my SBS with a
domain name of a.net, but I'd like to receive email for b.net and c.net. My
SBS has a domain of a.net
My ISP offers only dynamic addresses, so I'm getting my service through
DynDNS and have not had problems for one domain.
Is this simply a matter of:
a) redirecting my domains to DynDNS
b) creating the mail records in DynDNS
Should I considere that my internal and external domain names are the same?

Hi,
Anyone ever tried to install Windows SBS 2003 on an HP Proliant ML150 G2? I
tried a few times already and it always ends up with daily hang ups with no
errors in the logs. I noticed that a few people got the same problem but no
solution was mentioned. Hope I'm lucky!
Fyi, the server has an adaptec 2120S raid controller with HDDs in Raid 5.

- Messanger >> Using DialupI have a small home network (HPNA 2.0) based consisting of
a WinXP Home ICS "server" and a Win2K ICS "client". I
do not run ICF but I do have a hardware router/firewall
between my DSL modem and "server PC" as well as ZoneAlarm
(medium setting). Both are working fine and can access the
internet as well as each other's shared drives and
printers.
However, I would like to do videoconferencing from
my "client PC" over the internet and this does not work
over the ICS connection. I do have a dialup internet
connection as well. Currently I physically unplug my LAN
connection, fire up my dialup and can videoconference (low
bandwidth but works). Once the conference is over, I
discinnect my dialup, shutdown my PC, reconnect LAN and
reboot.
Question:
On my "client" PC, can I simultaneously have dialup as
well as broadband (thru ICS) internet connections?
Is there a software setting either in MSN Messenger or my
Win2k PC that can be used to force MSN Messenger to use
the dialup connection? I am tired of having to physically
disconnect and reconnect the LAN.

What i need to sort is the figures in any column and that sort will apply to
whole matrix. I for the life of me can't get it work. So if I want to see
Mar, descending, the whole matrix shifts with the sort.
Is this possible or am I dead-ended?

I'd like to hide oryginal property "Text". And I do it.

But the problem I have, is that this property is not shown in "Properties"
grid during designin form that using my control.
Under desktop .NET it works fine.
I have try attribute:

before the property definition, but it dosen't work.
I use the same project for run-time and design-time (couse I don't know, how
to build separate ones).
The question is: how to make may new "Text" property visible and editable in
designer property grid ?

- SVCS >> Different images based on condition...I was wondering if there is a way to display a particular image into a table
record based on a condition. For example, I have a list of questions that
come in 3 different types, each type has a different image associated with
it, so it would look like this:

<Image3.bmp> Third Question (type is 3)
<Image2.bmp> Forth Question (type is 2)
<Image1.bmp> Fifth Question (type is 1)
...and so forth.
So basically what I am wanting to do is (at the record level) display the
different images based on what type of question I want. But, I can't seem
to figure out how to insert three different images into one cell and supress
two of them based on the 'question_type'. Which was how I accomplished it
in crystal reports.
I think I could probably do this by storing the images in a column in the
database, then call that with my stored procedure. Although, I am afraid
that this would take up tons of space in the database and take forever for
the report to run.
Any thoughts? Thanks!

Enhancements on my local machine.
I have administrator rights to the Server
I can open reports without any hassles from the CRM Server (under
Enterprise Folder) but when I wish to preview the reports / verify the
Datebase / update the schema fields I have added , it comes up with an
error:

The follwoing error message was returned:

The above happens IF I enter administrator as username and my
password.
IF I leave password blank for some reason it only spits out:
Logon Failed.
Details: An error occurred while resolving logged on user IDs through

Has anybody experienced this kind of problem? and if anyone can help

- Crm >> Sent Date of Promoted into CRM EmailWhen I promote an email to CRM, the date created field is that of the date I
promoted the email into CRM, and not the date the email was sent or received
into Outlook.
For example, I receive an email from a client on September 1, I don't
promote it until September 7, even though the client sent it on September 1,
in CRM it shows as having been created September 7.
Does anyone have a way or know of an add-on that I can capture the original
received date in CRM?
Right now my only solution is to automatically route all incoming email to
CRM, and really rather not have to do that.

see my contact but not hear here,she can see and hear me fine,i have check my
audio wizards and ran all the direct x checks and everything is fine,i have
also check my webcam setting and its says everything is ok, i am really
baffled by this a week ago it was working fine,and now nothing i have similar
problem with windows messenger 4.7 that wont connect at all,i thought that it
might have been something i did,so i format my pc this morning but still msn
messenger still wont work any help appreciated i really need to get this
working so i can talk to my mum whose lives in cyprus.

I'm trying to get images from a DB and I need to place them on a small card
in the same row (attached is a MS Word doc example).
I don't know how to manipulate the BLOB fields to place it in the same row.
It is a small A5 card. I need to get the persons text info placed in rows.
This is easy. But I need to place their pictures on the same horizontal
line. This is where I don't fall of the bus.
Eg.

3. Name

- Messanger >> MSN Messenger Closes with no errorsEver since upgrading to SP2 my MSN Messenger will not
stay running. I can open the messenger fine but as soon
as a connection is made and I am logged in, the program
closes with no error message. It's no longer in the
process list or system tray. I've gotten the program to
connect and stay connected a couple times, usually after
restarting a few times, but 98% of the time as soon as I
open it and it logs in, the program closes. I ran Spybot,
Ad-Aware, and McAfee Virus Scan, deleated cookies, check
my firewall settings over and over (this can't be it
because of the few times I've gotten it to work). Nothing
is working. Thanks for any help.

success. But after I when to use the MSCRM function offline, the error
msg "Metadata Cache Error" is shown.
Does anyone face the same problem? how to fix it?

- Money >> cleared balance does not appear while balancing acct.Money 2004 - while trying to balance checking account the
Balance Account pane (left side) does not show the
cleared so far items only shows difference between
statement and register. I know previous versions had
these desposits and withdrawls itemized and the help
video shows that it does too.
Makes it difficult to narrow down discrepency when you
cannot determine the type of transaction it was (check,
depsosit)
Any thoughts why this is not showing up?
