- Crm >> CRM Login ProblemsSo I finally got CRM 1.2 installed all the way. I had many many many
problems during installation, but after a format, all the problems
went away... odd.
But now, I've added a user to the User Manager as a System
Administrator, but I can't login. They have a liense assigned to them,
and I even manually added them to almost every CRM group I can find,
starting with the group they are a member of (system administrator).
When I go to login, I get an authorization prompt and I enter my
domain\username and password, but it just prompts me again. After the
third or so time, I get "HTTP Error 401.1 - Unauthorized: Access is
denied due to invalid credentials.". I know I'm entering the right
username and password. I'm logged in as that user anyway, so it
shouldn't have to prompt me in the first place. I've tried that for
two users, and the same thing happens. How am I supposed to login to
the CRM web interface?

I recently had to wipe and reinstall SBS 2003 SP1 R2 Premium single nic. I
have a raid 5 config with 4 250G SATA drives with one of the drives
configured as a hot spare (yes I know now I should not have SATA drives but
it is on a long list of mistakes I made with the purchase of this server)
I am planning a partition scheme that looks like this:
C drive 65g (SBS including exchange & SQL server 2005)
D Drive 100g (Exchange Data and Logs)
E Programs (CRM {Dedicated SQL Server instance for CRM}Office and Small
Business Financials 9.0)
F CRM Data 100 G
G CRM Logs 10 G
H Files 50 G
I Down Loads UP Dates Remaning space
How does this sound for efficency performance and fault protection. Or am I
making this too hard?

- Compact >> Rotate the gridWhat's the easiest way to pseudo-rotate the grid? What I would like to do is
list the column headers in column 0 and the actual column contents for one
record in column 1. I can do this fairly easy in eVB, but the CF DataGrid
looks quite a bit trickier.
Actually, I'm stumped that MS would not more easily implement this
functionality because I would think that any CF developer would want this
capability. Simply put, its pretty screwball to always have to scroll
horizontally on a PocketPC grid. All of the examples I've seen so far for
.Net CF have your customers scrolling mindlessly to the right. Since most
apps are usually dealing with one record at a time, it seems much more
logical that if you wanted the DataGrid to scroll at all (another topic),
then you would want it to ONLY scroll vertical.
Finally, some might suggest using a ListView instead, as it would lend
itself to this dual-column approach. The ListView has some more serious
shortcomings that make it totally inappropriate for this app, not the least
of which is the inability to control row height.

- SVCS >> Opening Report Server 2005 web site with VS 2005I'm getting the "Report Server has not been congured for use with ASP.NET
2.0" when I open the report server web site using VS 2005. This is on
Windows 2003 and the SSRS 2005. Any idea how I can resolve this?

- SBS >> Trend Micro CSM?I finally have had a chance to probe into Trend's AntiVirus software and
have a question regarding one of the settings that is available. In the
Virus Scan options there are options to:
Enable VS API virus scanning
Enable eManager Filtering
Enable Attachment Blocking
Enable SMTP mail scanning
The other two options:
Virus scanning
Active Message filtering have no checkboxes to select.
Should the SMTP option be enabled or not??

setting 'User Provided'
Desired: have the values entered in custom fields totaled in the field
x.
The custom fields are of the type 'currency'.
E.g.
custom field 1 = $ 500,-
custom field 2 = $ 1000,-
result in:
Est. Revenue ($)= $ 1.500,-

money is corrupted or is not a money file".So I tried to
use my back up file on CD but got the same message.Can

out and it was reflected in ADUC.
gpresult, however shows I am still a member. How do I resolve this?

I bought Symbol device with wince.net 4.1 installed. After
CF app compilation and running I see menus at the top of
window, not on bottom like in classical PPC. How can I
write app to be universal? Do I have to force menu and
toolbar to be bottom-located?

Hi Forum,
Application auto reload after on cold boot: Is there any possibility
of autoreloading pocketpc application on cold reboot. The conditions,
and configuration could be stored in some boot file that could be run
automatically after the device cold boots. SSE technolgies, who we
purchased the Symbol PDAs from , have created such applications.
I have studied the previous links and we do have SD Cards as well. But
autorun.exe somehow doues not work. Please tell me in detail.
Please help me.

ditto on what Alex has said.
do make sure you visit the Symbol Devlopers Zone. they have an entire
'white paper' there entitled "Installing Applications for Persistence v2.0".
a most helpful document.

- Money >> Money 2007 cannot locate fileTwice since installing Vista, a friend of mine has opened Money 2007
only to get the error message, 'Money cannot locate F:\Jane\Documen
\tMoney\datafile or cannot open it, possibly because it is a read-only
file or you do not have permission to change it or your disk drive is
write protected.
She has administrative rights to her system, the data file is not read-
only and the disk is not write protected. She checked to see if any
program or process was using the file after she last shut money down
and this was not happening.
She can find a large .tmp file in DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\<user>\LOCAL
SETTINGS/TEMP, and can copy it to her desktop and rename it and open
it to get her data file back. Other than that, she has back ups of
her back ups.
She does not believe this happened before installing Vista, and it is
disconcerting that this has happened twice in 12 weeks. Any thoughts
on why this is happening?

- Crm >> CRM e-mail routerI have a 1.2 installation. When I try to send an e-mail, I get a generic
"Unexpected error. Please see your administrator."
I do have a log entry that states that "An error occured attempting to
dispatch the e-mail HTTP 403" and calls out a reference to a proxyutil.h
file, but thinks it's located on the D: drive, which is the cd-rom. I double
checked on the Exchange 2003 Server and it's D: drive is ALSO a cd-rom.
Any ideas?? In any case, the e-mail won't send out.
This is a single Exchange server, so the SMTP is on this particular box.

- Crm >> Cannot Regiter Partner Key with MBSSeems to be much confusion over the proper keys to use. We tested using the
MSDN key from the Parnter site. This key does now allow the registration
wizard to run. This is OK.
We then called MS to find out which key to use for Certified Partners. We
were told to use the key in our mailer. This key is on a card that has a
choice of SBS or Professional edition. We chose the Professional key and
successfully installed the product. Howerver, the license says 100,000 users.
We called MS and they said that this is correct.....seems strange, but that
is what they said.
Now, I go to register my software at MBS as a partner and it says this is
not a valid partner key. So, is this key on this card that shipped to us
with the CRM disks in December the valid key? If so, how do I register it?
This is nuts. There is an MSDN key, a public Trial key on the CRM site and
this key that was shipped to us. Talk about confusing.

I haven't had much success. Here is my
setup:
Desktop/Workstation has Windows XP, ActiveSync, .NET Framework 2.0, and
SQL Server 2005. The production Workstation
will have 2000; so I do want to ensure SQL Server 2000 compatibility
with my solution.
Handheld device is an Intermec 751g with docking station, hooked to PC
host using USB connector cable and ActiveSync, Windows CE 4.2, .NET
Compact Framework 2.0 with SP1 and
latest patch.
Development tools consist of Visual Studio 2005 and C# .NET language.
Note that when I attempt to ping my desktop from the handheld command
prompt I get "transmit failed, error code
11010".
Also, I am able to access the Internet from my handheld device.
My error is encountered when I execute this fill code:

Please note that all of my code is generated by the VS 2005 IDE at this
juncture, as I am simply trying to get the

- Messanger >> Messenger 6I upgraded to messenger 6 (I am on win98) and if it has
been running for more than a couple of minutes when I try
and start a conversation or someone trys to start one with
me I get an error message saying "unable to start
conversation".
Any ideas - I have downgraded back to MSGR 5 and the
problem has gone away - I was told by a friend that
Microsoft released a slightly different version after the
first v6 to fix some problems but obviously not this one.

An exception occurred while uninstalling. This exception will be

So I ignored the error message and uninstalled the email router. Then
I tried to install the update version of crm email router which I
