- SVCS >> Report Designer: preview goes into infinite loopHello,
Situation:
- a report with cascading parameters [A], [B], [C]
- first parameter [A] loaded via non-queried values
- second parameter [B] loaded via stored procedure, taking [A] and a
constant as input (via dataset dsB)
- third parameter [C] loaded via the same stored procedure, taking [A] and
[B] as input (via dataset dsC)
When I preview this report:
- initial view ok
- modify [A] -> [B] changes accordingly
- modify [B] -> the designer starts flickering and goes into a never ending
loop.
The deployed report works just fine and as expected.
Bug ? Any work arounds ?
Thanks for any input!

I am having trouble installing Desktop client for outlook for CRM 3.0.
When I try to install, I get an error saying somthing like the version
is not compatible or the client already exists.
When I checked, I found that C:\Program Files\Microsoft CRM\Client
folder already exists and has some files in it. There is also MSDE
database for CRM on the machine.
I want to completely uninstall this client. But I do not see the
entries for CRM client and MSDE database under Add/Remove programs.
Can anyone tell me how to manually uninstall CRM client as well the
MSDE database?
You help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

- SVCS >> Is there an easier way to retrieve parameter query definitions?SSRS 2005
I am building a custom asp.net report parameter page interface for our
Reporting Services reports. We want to leverage as much of the design
information contained in the report definitions as possible to automate the
building of the report parameter pages.
I see how I can use the ReportViewer methods and the web services interface
to obtain report parameter definition information, but I do not see any
properties or methods within these interfaces for finding out the queries
(datasets) that are defined for populating the drop down lists for the
parameters.
I do see that I can use the web service interface to get the .rdl file for
the report and search it to get the dataset definitions for the parameters.
But my question is, is this the only way to do so, or is there a more direct
method available? Am I overlooking a simpler approach?
Thanks!

currently writing at 5D (http://www.ihook.cc, no link to our future .NET

It could handle DataView as well as DataGrid do, but also handle a more
abstract and generic data model.
every single row or header is customizable, resizable, editable.
It has acceptable performance however there is some issue with the speed of

all the source code is here (and partially documented) and it cames with a

- SBS >> DNS Problems ?? Slow connection to ServerI manage a small network in a Hospice using Windows 2003 SBS Windows XP
workstations.
We connect to the Internet via a private line through NHS (UK National
Health Service) managed connection.
3 Months ago the NHS area we connect to the internet through installed
internet monitoring software which prevents users connecting to unautherised
sites. When this was applied none of our computers could connect to the
local server or the Internet. This issue was resolved with the NHS support
team but since then we seem to have had constant problems. NHS deny they
caused the problem. Funny that 30 minutes after complaining al workstations
suddenly connected.
We have 8 workstations connected to the server plus 2 printers.
Occassionally 3 other users connect using their laptops. Most people work
part time and therefore there are never more than 7 computers running at any
one time. We have 10 CALS
In recent months we have experienced many connection problems. Work stations
not logining onto server or taking a very long time to connect (20minutes or
longer) Usually whilst applying personal settings. Printers often do not
work, turning them off and on again sometimes reconnects them, other time
they only connect when the server is rebooted. Both printers have static
IP's All computers connect using dynamic IP's
Generally the problem occurs on 3 out of the 7 workstations the others have
never had a problem. Some days no one has poblems. The computers which are
slow connecting usually have problems connecting to the excahnge mail server.
Re booting the server sometimes helps.
I originally thought we might have a licencing problem as we have 12
computers and 2 printers assigned in the server. There are also 18 users
assigned most share computers.
I have looked at other postings which suggest there are problems with DNS.
I am no expert in this area therefore would appreciate help.

I am attempting to pass a report parameter to a custom assembly in a

When I try to reference a parameter, I receive "[BC30469] Reference to a

Is this subject in the BOL correct in that I should be able to reference

Hi people,
I have just installed the SBS 2000 in XP environment.
THe ISA is running in it.
When I try to run Windows Update from a XP workstation I received an error

In my research I found one KB (http://support.microsoft.com/?id=885819).
Among other things it is recommended to do some procedures like creating a

I followed the steps but my blocked sites become accessibles.
Anyone can help me?

SBS >> Windows Update problem in SBS 2000
Why not just installed the recommended update to Internet Explorer on the
workstation that's mentioned in the KB article?
To resolve the problem, install the Internet Explorer update rollup that is
described in the following Microsoft Knowledge base article:
871260 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/871260/) An update rollup is
available for Internet Explorer versions 5.x and 6.0

NetMeeting only supports VFW devices. In my case that leaves me with
1: use cheap webcam hence crappy pic
2: use Fuji camera but with no brightness/contrast control so need VERY
bright room.
What I'd like to use is a camcorder connected to my Radeon video-in, but
only a WDM driver is provided for that.
I eagerly downloaded the new and improved Messenger 6.1 hopibng it'd finally
allow me to choose ANY video device. How disappointing that it's absolutely
useless to me in this regard., offering no more than the original Messenger

only supports VFW devices.
WTF!!! I'd just like to know why Microsoft doesn't even support their own

three months and I recommended SBS premium edition to a
client who purchased the software with 10 additional
CAL'S. I think you need to know that this software is
loaded with problems. All the hardware is new and the
client OS is XP PRO which is great, but SBS has major
flaws. I think it has great potential but it needs much
more attention, especailly if you want to capture the
small business market. Using XP Pro in a peer to peer
network is much more stable but lacks the functionality
of SBS. Please regard this notice as positive criticism.
Small business is a great market but they don't have the
time, resources or patience for this inferior product.

- SBS >> Not the average SBS 2003 ConversionGoal: Put in place new server with SBS 2003, keep existing AD domain, users,

Current Config: W2K AD server with shared files. NT4 server with Exchange
5.5 (SP4). W2K member server with BES. 25 users, 30 mailboxes, 5 public
folders with custom forms.
I just bought a new server with SBS 2003 Std. I want to put it in place to
replace NT4 server and W2K AD server. I am wondering about how I can do this
leaving some of the existing pieces in place to allow the conversion of data
before taking them offline. I would like to migrate over all the W2K users
(same as ones on NT4 server) and the shared files to the SSB server. I know
the SBS server will have a different server name, but may choke on being in
the same Domain if there is an already AD server.
I know one option is to save all the email accounts to a PST, create the
users on the SBS server with same username and then import in the PST to
their Exchange account. Not sure what I would do with the Public Folders. I
can copy all the W2K shared folders to a workstation C drive and then put
them on the SBS 2003 server and set the directory permissions. I am just
looking for those people with experience to indicate maybe a quicker way or
what problems I will have with the brute-force method.
Thanks in advance

I can think of two ways in theory that it can be done one by being able to
manipulate the page break to creak a final page and another to conbine two

This is however a theory and I by no means think either of these is possible.

Now the Internet connection was "unreachable".
( I can always restore the connection to Internet if I am inside the
company, but not from the outside.
This means that for accidental shutdowns I have to travel back to the SBS to
restore the Internet connection and this is unacceptable. )
--> Can anyone tell me what am I doing wrong? <--
Many thanks in advance.
- Mike.
PS:
I have reinstalled SBS 2003 premium for the 3rd time (since it was no way to
restore companyweb).
I use PPPoE to get connected to the Internet.
There are many nice features in SBS, but it seems very fragile (it breaks
too easily) to me, and difficult to fix.

- Money >> Ultrasoft Money - BummerI bought this program because I thought it truly synced with Microsoft
Money. It does not. All I have found that it does is to sync the checkbook
registry. I have 4 investment accounts, a running credit card account and a
checking account in Money. Of the six accounts, it will only sync with the
checking acct :-( Might as well just have a cheap check book program.

- SBS >> Exchange Activesync problem.I use a Treo 650 and have had no problems with Versamail and Exchange
Activesync. Today, all of a sudden I cannot sync and get the following error.
"There was a problem syncing messages (0006) HTTP/1.1.500. Internal Server
Error Connection close."
I did not change anything on the server, and this just started to happen. I
am on a SMS, with Exchange 2003. Any help??
Thank you.
