- SBS >> Question about SMTP (new one)We have a general e-mail address (info at moderntravel d0t net). I just
setup SMTP on our SBS2K3 Prem. server. I'm using software to keep our
dynamic IP constant (through dyndns.org).
I sent a test message from my yahoo account to the "info" e-mail address,
and I got a failure e-mail back in my yahoo account.
Do I need to do something in AD to get the "info" account to work now that
we are using SMTP? We used the "info" account when were receiving
everything through the POP connector, and it worked without problem then.

- SBS >> di470 copier/scanner to FTPwe have a minolta di470 copier with scan to ftp ability. Currently setup to
scan to a FTP site on a NT 4.0 server and works OK. I duplicated the FTP
setup on the new SBS 2003 and changed the di470 IP to point to the SBS but
scans do not get to the ftp folder. Only clues are the embedded web page in
the di470 shows "ftp users approval error" and the IIS 6.0, abbriated log
shows in order...
user 331 - users name ok, need password
pass 230 - user logged in, proceed.
created +\/ "the pdf filename" 550
quit 550 - user does not have permission to perform action..
the di470 logon has full access to the ftp folder.

- Crm >> CRM Integration GPHi, i try to install CRM Integraton Connector for GP. According to the
installation book, i must install Microsoft CRM Adapter in CRM Server and
then install Microsoft GP Adapter in computer where GP is installed and then
install CRM Integration Server (i install this in GP's computer).
I have been installed CRM Adapter in CRM Server, and then i have been
installed GP Adapter in GP's computer. After that, I try to install CRM
Integration Server, after all, I follow the instruction, and an error was
occur with message :

server was unable to connect to Microsoft CRM Adapter. Please make sure
that you have installed Microsoft CRM Adapter before installing Microsoft CRM
Connector for Microsoft Dynamics GP Server

I was check the service (IIS, Message Queuing, MSSQLServer, World Wide
Publishing was running both the computer), and i was try to uninstall CRM
Adapter and then install it again, but why the error like that, someone can
help me ?

- Crm >> CRM and SBF (8.0) Integration???I know that SBM and CRM would integrate. I am assuming that since SBF is
actually GP 'basic" that it will not integrate as well. DOes anyone know if
that is true?

- SBS >> Printers gone berserkHi
sbs2003 premium network. There are several printers that are connected to
the network via fixed ip. The network had been working fine. The problem is
that suddenly some printers have stopped printing from some pcs.
Unfortunately not all users are effected so it is slightly more complicated.
Is there anything I can check to see what is the problem with these network
printers? Because it has suddenly happened, could it be some sort of
corruption in active directory?

- SBS >> Always reoccuring event on Windows SBS 2003 R2Hi I installed a new Windows 2003 SBS R2,
5 workstations are connected and I always receive the event of several
Workstations who are trying to become Master browser...
I know this isn't a big deal, but still I want to get rid of those messages.
EventID: 8003
The master browser has received a server announcement from the computer
ZKWILWST002 that believes that it is the master browser for the domain on
transport NetBT_Tcpip_{9420C921-D501-40. The master browser is stopping or an
election is being forced.
EventID: 6702
DNS Server has updated its own host (A) records. In order to insure that its
DS-integrated peer DNS servers are able to replicate with this server, an
attempt was made to update them with the new records through dynamic update.
An error was encountered during this update, the record data is the error
code.
If this DNS server does not have any DS-integrated peers, then this error
should be ignored.
If this DNS server's ActiveDirectory replication partners do not have the
correct IP address(es) for this server, they will be unable to replicate with
it.
To insure proper replication:
1) Find this server's ActiveDirectory replication partners that run the DNS
server.
2) Open DnsManager and connect in turn to each of the replication partners.
3) On each server, check the host (A record) registration for THIS server.
4) Delete any A records that do NOT correspond to IP addresses of this
server.
5) If there are no A records for this server, add at least one A record
corresponding to an address on this server, that the replication partner can
contact. (In other words, if there multiple IP addresses for this DNS server,
add at least one that is on the same network as the ActiveDirectory DNS
server you are updating.)
6) Note, that is not necessary to update EVERY replication partner. It is
only necessary that the records are fixed up on enough replication partners
so that every server that replicates with this server will receive (through
replication) the new data.
The server has 3 NIC's, 1 is for the Internet with all options disabled
except TCP/IP.
The other 2 are in Teaming from HP and have a fixed IP including and all
options configured, etc...

I am unable to see the View CAR in the Choose A view, all
I see is
BASIC
NORMAL
ACCOUNTS AND BILLS
INVESTING
PLANNING
TAX
PRIORITIES
CUSTOM
The Help file says I should see a view called car, I
tried custom but still cant see where a car view should
come up.
I am obviously doing something wrong, can anyone help.

- SBS >> Restoring DNS and active directory to SBS defaultsHi,
I am getting errors in DNS logs shown below. Network connectivity seems to
be OK, however I was getting some errors with active directory replicating
between the SBS box and a member server. I have tried re-running the CEICW
a number of times but the errors still appear. I also tried re-running the
SBS setup from Add/Remove prgrams and reinstalling the networking
components.
Is there any way to re-install DNS and active directory so they have the SBS
installation default settings but without losing all the AD objects etc?

activites tab because everytime i change c:\My Documents to d:\My documents,
using Tweakui everytime i start up the file sharing activities it keeps
coming up with error messages

after backup is completed? It is set up using the sbs
backup wizard, and using an AIT1 tape drive.

- SVCS >> Group Sum over multiple pages with IIFI am using an IIF statement to sum a group of detail records that spans more
than 1 page. The sum looks like this:
Sum(IIf(Fields!MySwitch.Value = 'A', Fields!MyValue.Value,0))
Im doing the sum in the table1_group1 footer and it works fine if all the
data in the group remains on the same page, but once it is expanded to 2 or
more pages I get #Error. Any suggestions?

- SVCS >> Header problem in Excel preview :urgent help pleaseI deployed a report in my system (1) which has a page header containing
report title .Even report has page footer containing page number
number like as "page of total pages ( 1 of 3,2 of 3, 3 of 3).
In report preview, report header is being repeated for every page
and even page number is being displayed correctly for every page
as my report displays multiple pages.
But after exporting to Excel, in Print preview, page header is not being repeated
for every page and even page footer is being displayed as "1 of 1" for every page.
Can i know the reason why it is happening.
when the report is being deployed in another 2nd machine, report header
and page number are both displaying in correct requirements.
like page number as '1 of 3' in first page, '2 of 3' in 2nd page,
and 3 of 3 in 3rd page and even page header is being repeated in every page in
print preview of excel when it is exported to excel.

- Money >> Account list showing incorrect balanceHi
Money 2004 std, Canadian version.
When I view my account list in money, one of the accounts has an incorrect
balance and is exactly $1000 out. When I click on the account in question
the balance displays correctly and all transactions are present.
How can I resolve this?

- Money >> Opening Money 2000 file in Money 2007I have Money 2007 Home & Business, version 16.0.150.1303.
It seems to work fine except when I try and use it to open a money 2000 file
that used UK pounds as the base currency. First I get a message saying it
is converting the file, then it says I must specify an exchange rate for $/£
which is not available online but when the currency screen comes up it says
a file needed to run planner is missing or corrupted and the program closes.
If I try and start the new converted file it goes straight to the currency
screen with the same missing/corrupted planner file message and I can't get
it to stay open.
real problem is that I discarded my old 2000 disk when I got the new
version. How can I access the old file?

Microsoft says you can reassign user accounts. Ok, how do you do this?
From MS SBS FAQs
Q.Is each per user license tied to a specific user?
A.If you choose per user CALs, then each Windows Small Business Server 2003
user will consume a CAL, and that CAL is tied to that specific user. You can
re-allocate a user CAL if that reassignment is permanent. You can also
temporarily re-assign if the user or device is disabled or on leave.

Ken,
The user licenses are not specifically tied to individual users. To "free" a
user license simply disable a user account since only active accounts
consume licenses.

no way to use my Video IN on my ATI card to act as a
webcam. I went through Audio/Tuning Wizard and I can see
the video from my camcorder just fine. When I try to

the other end is a laptop with everything needed to

- Crm >> Unable to do a full text search on the KnowledgbaseI have an SBS version and we are unable to do a search on the Knowledgebase.
I can see all the articles, but when we try to do a search I get an SQL error
telling me to contact the system administrator. SBS R2 and SQL 2005. Any

I do I go about dealing with a covered call transaction in Microsoft
Money 2007 Premium? Currently what I am doing is inputing the option
symbol, and choosing the transaction "Sell to Open" then when I go to
expire the option I try to do a Sell to Close. However it does not
seem to work? Also what happens if instead of expired I has the
position assigned? how would I account for that? Thank you.

their needs?
The alternative is to write/copy the same report once and again and have it
repeated (one instance) for each orderable column.

I've create a cab from visual studio.net of my solution.
This have dependencies from netcf.all.wce4.armv4.cab, sqlce.wce4.armv4.cab
, and others.
I want to make a unique cab file with all these dependencies cab files,
without
copying all this cab file into device and install in many steps.

- Money >> Why does catagorizing "negative" expenses not workI did catagorize the income as a "negative" expense. That's how I did it on
Yahoo! but for some reason the amount in that catagory still is the same as
it was before I catagorized the income as an expense. I have a bank service
charge of $18 and then I get a $18 credit from the bank. But even though I
catagorized the credit under the same expense catagory I still have $18 show
up for bank service charges in my spending by catagory pie chart.

We have some PDAs running two different .net CF applications at the same
time. When doing this, the apllications is running slow. Closing one, then
the speed is normal. Anyone having any ideas of where to start looking?
We are using VS2005, vb.net and CF 1.0 SP3.

Are we able to use the CRM API (Microsoft.CRM.Proxy.dl) if we only have MS
CRM Standard Suite.

- Crm >> Sales for Outlook 1.2 Client Install ErrorsWe have been experiencing some problems reinstalling the
Outlook Sales client on a machine that lost functionality
with the CRM Appointment button. The form just stopped
loading when the button was clicked, so we followed the
following steps:
1. We removed and then re-added the COM object Microsoft
CRM Outlook Addin and also cleared the forms cache in
Forms Manager. This did not resolve the issue.
2. We then completely uninstalled Sales for Outlook 1.2,
rebooted the system, reinstalled and rebooted and when
Outlook was launched, it now delivers the error "An error
occurred installing Microsoft CRM folders". None of the
CRM folders are now avaiable in the client.
3. We then reperformed the uninstall-reinstall process
above and also completely removed the MS SQL installation
on the local machine and deleted all remaining folders
from the local drive. Rebooted. Reinstalled. Rebooted.
Same message. "An error occurred installing Microsoft CRM
folders".
4. I just went to the length of uninstalling Outlook as
well as the CRM client and SQL and doing a full reinstall
of all three items. The outlook version is Outlook 2003.
After all of the reinstalls and reboots, same error. "An
error occurred installing Microsoft CRM folders".
I am at my wits end on this. Calls to Microsoft tech
support on our behalf by our consultants have resulted in
much head scratching to date, so I am interested in
fielding any suggestions that anybody else might have on
this.
Has anyone else run across this problem? If so, was there
ever any resolution outside of reformatting the entire
system? I just don't want to go to that extreme if I can
avoid it, as I now have two such affected systems and a
third that has now also exhibited the malfunction of the
CRM Appointment button.

- SBS >> hosting my own email problemsI am having great difficulty configuring SBS2003 to be able to receive my
domain email. I have DSL service with Sprint, and a static IP address. I
have a registered domain name and have it parked with Earthlink, and they
tell me my domain mail is set up as mail.mydomain.com. I am running the DNS
service on my server.
I can send mail without any problem. I can NOT receive any mail. Can you
please tell me the proper steps to configure SBS2003 to receive my domain
email. I have been searching for two days to find help with my problem and
so far no one is willing to help. Sprint tells me everything is working on
their end, and Earthlink tells me everything is set up porperly on their end.
