SBS >> Resize system partition I have an 80GB drive with a 12GB C: and a 60GB D: partition (setup by Dell).
I am down to 2.5GB of free space on C: and would like to increase this
partition size to 20GB. Is this possible and if so, how?

In case you are wondering, yes, all my data files are on the D: drive. I
even moved my Exchange Information Store.

TIA,
Robert

usually be enough. Have you moved the paging file & ISA cache(premium
only)? What is using up all the space?

SBS >> Resize system partition Well, having 2.5GB of free space is not a problem by itself. Rather, the
question is: how quickly are you losing disk space?

Go into c:\winnt\system32\logfiles directory and you can delete old log
files from the various sub directories in there. Keep in mind that Shadow
Copy (VSS) will eat up more disk space.

SBS >> Resize system partition Well, it came right from Dell with over 6GB already used. Not real sure
where the other 3GB got used. I have Webroot's Spy Sweeper Enterprise, Trend
Micro's Client/Server/Messaging Suite for SMB, MBSA, Shavlik HFNetChkPro, and
SpectorSoft's CNE all installed on the c: drive. The SpectorSoft DataVault
is on the D: drive though because I knew it would take up a lot of space.

I don't have SBS Premium.

No, I have not moved the paging file. Dell configured it to reside on the
C: drive. Can you suggest a good how to for moving the paging file?

Thanks,
Robert

SBS >> Resize system partition My advise would be to get a new drive (possibly bigger)
Backup everything first.

Use Ghost or drive image to image your 12GB boot partition to the new drive.
Probably do this in a seperate machine.
then resize the apartion to the size you want.
The use the remaining space for your new drive D:
This way you don't risk your old drive and you have a fall back inc case of
problems all for the cost of a drive.

You can break the mirror and keep that drive for "disaster recovery". If all
goes well, re-mirror.

SBS >> Resize system partition In that case I'd break the mirrror.
Buy 2 new drives. Copy the image across to the new mirror and then use the
old drive as a pagefile plus some space for backup images.

SBS >> Resize system partition Like Mal said, 12 GB is enough. With an OEM install, you have to move a lot
of folders manually to get to where a good scratch install would put you.

Here's a complete set of instructions:
