Messanger >> Messenger 7.5 vs Messenger 8.1 My situation is the same as BPoggi in a post dated 2/26. Being told by Bill
Sanderson and also reading from posts over in the Defender forum i was told
that the latest version of MSN Messenger 7.5 is Windows live Messenger 8.1.
After upgrading to 8.1 from 7.5 i too have both versions on my desktop and
also in ADD/REMOVE and my question is why wasn't 7.5 removed and can it be?
Also another problem i'm having is when i open Windows live Messenger to
check to see if i received any emails i would then open MSN Today and check
them there. When MSN Today is opened i receive a message there was an error
during sign-in (no error #) and can't access my inbox from there. And now i
can't access my Hotmail from my MSN Homepage or MSN Today

Jonathan Kay, can 7.5 be removed without harming 8.1? and i would love my
msn today to work again. Thank you Ron H.

Messanger >> Messenger 7.5 vs Messenger 8.1 Greetings Ron,

Assuming you're referring to the exact same problem, MSN Messenger 7.5 is not there -- it's
just listed in Add or Remove Programs. This can be safely ignored as it's just an entry in
the registry.

Can you get to Hotmail from http://www.hotmail.com ?

Messanger >> Messenger 7.5 vs Messenger 8.1 Jonathan Thank you for your help, deleted desktop short cut for 7.5 - left it
alone in ADD/REMOVE and found out that MSN Today was down for a few days .
All is fine and thanks for the come back. Ron

Messanger >> Messenger 7.5 vs Messenger 8.1 Hi Ron,

No problem :)

For what it's worth, I noticed this same thing on one of my PCs earlier today -- I hadn't
even noticed it before now.
