- Crm >> Restricting the Case LookupIs there a way to prevent resolved cases from appearing in the case lookup?
Specifically...
Create an email in Outlook. Click the 'Track in CRM' button.
Click the 'Regarding' button. Change the 'Look For' to Cases.
Currently this lookup displays all cases with no restrictions. I would like
to restrict this to only show active cases.

- Crm >> Workflow Manager not workingHi All:
When I try and launch Workflow Manager it asks for the
name of the server and no matter what I type in it
gives
me a "The specified Microsoft CRM server is not
respondig. This might happen if it is currently
unavailable or it is not a Microsoft CRM Server. For more
information, contact your systems administrator" error.
the Services of MSCRM are running and i can access to CRM
with Browser in the same server. I have tried just the
name of the server, the crm header name, the server.domain
name, the header.domain name, etc.
the user currently logged is a Domain Admin and is a User
of MSCRM.
I have in the same server other page in the Default Web
site so i have the MSCRM as other Web Site (not default
web site) and with DNS is how to in a CRM.
why dont run Workflow Manager? any ideas?

- Money >> Deleting check numbersI finally got online updates to match downloaded transactions with my manual
entries. I did this by opening up a completely new file (starting pretty
much from scratch), only way it would work. Now there are 2 new problems.
One, when I "accept", it is replacing check numbers with "check", even though
it keeps my manual payee name. And two, it keeps downloading the same
transactions so I repeatedly have to accept them over and over again after
each update. Any thoughts? Is this all still a part of the same Yodlee
problems, or is there an adjustable setting that I am missing?

instructions.

- Crm >> Tracking membership in other organizations/groupsHi,
I'm wondering what the best way is to track an account's membership in other
organizations or groups, for example, local chambers of commerce, where the
organization can have multiple members and an account can belong to multiple
organizations? Having 20-30 yes/no fields seems way inefficient...there must
be some way to accomplish this with an "organization/group" entity that can
relate to accounts?

- SVCS >> referenceing visible propertyHi all,
I am not sure how to state this but here is what I would like to happen.
I currently have a field that can be dynamically expanded in order to see
additional activity on a loan. However, I want to show all detail if the loan
number starts with a specific value and hide it if it is a different value.
So what I am thinking is:
IIF(LEFT(LoanNum,4) = "XXXX" OR LEFT(LoanNum,4) = "YYYY",hide,show)
But I am not sure if Fields!x.value.visible=true is valid or not.
Please let me know if you have any ideas.

- Money >> M2004 Accepted Adjustments During Balance - #s WAY offM2004
I have a hump to get over. After reading the boards, here, I discovered
that one of my settings in M2004 was evil. ;-) I had it set to 'accept all
transactions' so that, when downloaded, the transactions showed as an 'E' (I
think - darn, I'm confused).
So. I tried to get the account balanced. The marks that I had in that
column were: C, E, R, and a check mark. I tried to balance from there. I
'marked as cleared' anything that appeared on my bank statement but had not
been downloaded to my account. The amount by which I was away from zero
varied incredibly. When I finally decided that I'd entered my info, M2004
told me that I was off by THOUSANDS of dollars (balancing from 11-2005). So,
I accepted an adjustment. THEN it told me that my starting balance was off
and I accepted an adjustment on that with the thought being that, it'll look
ugly, but, I'll be up-to-date. Guess what? My M2004 balance is now hundreds
and hundreds of dollars off -- still.
Suggestions? I have another (older) file that I can open and re-do all of
the inputting, but, my question is:
As I am balancing my account, what icon should be in the 'C' column?
AND: I did change my settings so that the downloaded transactions do NOT
mark as reconciled, after reading the boards & realizing my error. Are there
any other settings that I should pay close attention to?
** AND **
Since I have changed the download instructions to NOT automatically accept
transactions, what letters should be on my 'C' column during balancing?
Sorry if my post seems all over the place. I put this away for the night
and came back to it this morning and am just as befuddled as before.
Thanks,
Dianne

- Money >> Help Please switched from 2003 to 2006 and lost a usefull featureI have switched to 2006 from 2003 Everything works well. but there is one
thing I don't like is when you are in the bill summary and you highlight a
bill that you want to pay the register below does not reflect what you
balance would be after paying that bill. In the past I could highlight a
number of bills together and it would show the balance on the bottom right.
this feature is now gone or am I missing something? As it is now I have to
go back to the main banking account to get the new balance after entering a

- SBS >> Calendar SharingWe just started using Microsoft Exchange Server and public folders, so
please bear with me. Our Operations Manager wanted to share a calendar with
all the due dates of the jobs in the shop. So I thought I would try to put
this information into a public folder. I had him enter all the information
and gave him rights to do whatever he wants inside the folder. But, he has
found that when he tries to change the Label (color) it does some strange
things. Most of the time it won't let him do it and he gets a message like:
"The reminder for "11542 Testing" will not appear because the item is not in
your calendar or tasks folder." I don't know what this means, but if he
says OK, then nothing happens. But other times he will change the color and
won't get a warning, but the color won't change. And sometimes the color
will change when you click on a different enrty and then click back. It
just seems unpredictable. What is going on? Is there a better way to share
this calendar for everyone?
Thanks,
Mike

Subject: Publish CRM with SSL and reports-services URL
We have published our CRM webserver externally using SSL (without ISA I
might add). I just cloned the default CRM website in IIS, and adapted
that
for SSL.
So we now have 2 CRM websites, one for internal use and 1 for external
use.
Obviously they are 1 and the same CRM system, just 2 websites. Works
fine so
far.
But, the trouble starts with reports. The report-services are located on
our
SQL database server. This is accessed in CRM in the background using a
different URL then CRM itself. This doesn't matter for Internal use. The
trouble starts externally, since this URL is not SSL enabled and, more
importantly, not available for access from the outside. So reports don't
work in the CRM SSL version.
Let's say I am able to make the report-services also use SSL and be
available Externally. How do I 'tell' CRM to use this new URL ? (I now
diddly squad about programming).

Crm >> FW: Publish CRM with SSL and reports-services URL
There is that workaround where you tell the CRM application server to
communicate with the SQL server via NTLM.
It's a trade off though. You loose report scheduling.
But I got reports working at a client that way.
Their problem was a Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 trust between two
continents.
Kerberos traffic does not pass between that kind of trust so the clients in
the Win2k domain could not access the SPNs in the Windows 2003 forest.
The registry change fixed that. I just have to remember where I put it.

- Crm >> Workflows not running: error 16650Hello everyone,
I'm a beginner in CRM 3.0 and I'm stuck on the following problem:
I have created very simple workflows, without control structures, just
generating an email when creating a new Contact, that is an On Create event
workflow.
Running the rule manually, it works fine. However, when it runs when the new
Contact is created, no email is generated.
On the server side, what I have in the event viewer is the following:
"Action {014ED357-C3AE-DA11-B9E0-0012799110FE} failed in step
{004ED357-C3AE-DA11-B9E0-0012799110FE} of process instance

Microsoft.Crm.Workflow.Monitor for more information about the failure.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp."
Following the link I get a form with the following information:
Category None
Company Name Microsoft Corporation
Date 09/03/2006
Event ID 16650
File Name MSCRMEventMessages.dll
File Version 3.0.5300.0
Product Name Microsoft CRM
Product version 3.0.5.5300.0
Source MSCRMWorkflowService
Time 14:21:34
Type Error
After the rule has being executed, the Workflow appears as Paused in the
summary and I cannot see any other information neither in the Log form nor in
any other part.
I'm forced to log in the machine where the Workflow Manger is as
Administrator and my Workflow service is runnig under the "nt
authority\network service" user.
If anybody can give me any clue, I will thank you very much.

- Crm >> Let's Design a GREAT demo environment!!This is an open invitation for all of you out there!
I have any number of prospective CRM clients at the small end of the
spectrum, i.e. installations with a total projected cost of $20K or less.
They are very interested in what I have to say about CRM, especially when I
raise the possibility of sitting in their customers' offices pulling up real
time CRM data on their handhelds. (This, I believe, is THE Killer App
component of Small Business CRM!)
I'm thinking that I need to create a sandbox for them to play in. Hosted
CRM is a nice idea, but I'm not sure it goes where I want it to. I'd like to
be able to provision a three month trial (let's say...) in the form of a
web-based interface to an initially empty trial instance of CRM running on a
virtual server in my office. This way, I could perform some basic
customizations that would give them a taste of what they could expect. I
don't think that the handheld portion would be a viable demo, but if I could
just get that running on my own CRM system (when I have time!) that would be
sufficient.
I'm thinking of building a server that would support three or four of these
instances simultaneously. (As I'm sure you know, v3.0 can only support one
instance per server.) For hardware, a dual slot MB for dual core Opterons
with 1 to 2 GB of RAM per instance. I can throw Win Server 2003 on the base
system.
What I don't want to do, though is spend money on software for the trials.
Do you think I could get trial versions of Windows SBS Advanced and CRM that
could be easily provisioned from a virtual hard disk image without rebuilding
each time? Would I need a separate NIC per instance, as I think VS requires?
Would I then need a Cisco type router that would be able to route a separate
IP address for each instance? Is there such a thing as a router than can
interpret and then route Host Headers in IP Packets to different addresses?
How easy would it be to transfer the data to a permanent, licensed
environment?
I confess that these questions are of personal interest, but I think that
the system I'm talking about could be of great value to a lot of CRM
resellers out there. It's pretty clear to me that CRM is a VERY difficult
sell for the SMB market without kciking the tires a bit to really undersatnd
the power that it has. A selling sandbox like this would be a phenomenal
tool for lots of MS Partners. Heck, it would be a darn good investment for
MS to be GIVING us systems like this!
What do you think? How would you do it?

- Compact >> OpenNetCF's ConnectionManager.Connect() works once in a whileUsing: WM5 PPC, .NetCF2.0, OpenNetCF
Somehow I was cheering too early. After a while the snippet below
stopped working and I'm at a loss why. During the first few runs this
snippet nicely connected to the GPRS network: the 'connecting...'
balloon popped up and everything went fine from there. But now the
'connMgr.Status' never becomes 'ConnectionStatus.Connected' and a
timeout occurs. Standby, rebooting, nothing solves this problem.
When connected via ActiveSync the snippet below works fine IF I set the
'exclusive' parameter to 'true'.
I also tried adding a 'Guid' as a parameter,
connMgr.Connect(guid,false, ConnectionMode.Asynchronous), but the
result was that the connection (popping up the balloon) was made only
once. After that the balloon stayed away and the connection was never
made.
Could it be that the connection manager is unable to start a new
connection if it has started one already in the past? In that case I
would say that the a complete reboot of the phone should solve the
problem, but it doesn't.
=============================
bool connected = false;
int timeOut = 20; //seconds
ConnectionManager connMgr = new ConnectionManager();
//connMgr.Connect(true, ConnectionMode.Asynchronous);
