SQL Server Developer >> Local Database Persistence

is it possible to synchronize a local MSDE database that resides on a
workstation with the central database residing on a separate SQL Server?

also, does .net provide any way for local database persistence? some solution
that is like the dataset object but, with the ability to persist the information
for fault tolerance reasons and of course with synchronization abilites? im
thinking the abilities of sql server for ce but for the regular windows
platform..

thanks.
samantha.

SQL Server Developer >> Local Database Persistence It depends on how much synchronization you are looking for. If your looking
to use MSDE for fault tolerance that is probably not thebest approach.
There are several means to get data from one db to another depending on your
requirements. You might want to take a look in BooksOnLine under the
following:

Backup & Restore / sp_attach_db & sp_detach_db
Replication
