SQL Server >> Upgrade/Downgrade from SQLEXPRESS to SQL 2000 for Windows Sharepoint Services!?
I was told that it might be better to post here - so sorry in advance for
cross posting that...
Hello,
due to technical probs with our VPS-System i had to try an installation of
SQLEXPRESS and i finally made our Windows Sharepoint Services (on
VPS/Plesk/Virtuozzo Win2k3 Server standard) work.
Now i want to use SQL Server 2000 in order to activate the full-text search
and indexing of the Sharepoint site.
How can i migrate from SQLEXPRESS to SQL Server 2000 ?
Or is there a way to full-text search the sharepoint document libraries
saved in the SQLEXPRESS database?

By moving to SQL Express, you've upgraded your databases to the SQL Server
2005 format. This is a one-way operation and so these databases cannot be
attached to any version prior to SQL Server 2005. Full-text search is not
part of SQL Express in RTM but may be included in a future release. Your
best bet at this stage is to either recreate the SQL2000 databases or to
purchase an edition of SQL Server 2005 that includes full-text search.
