SQL Server Developer >> Launch BOL with a keyword?
Is it possible to launch SQL Server 2005 Books OnLine (BOL) supplying
a keyword, rather than open BOL, click the Search tab, type/paste the
keyword and hit Search? Yes, I'm lazy :) Thanks.

Highlight the keyword(s) in a query window and press Shift-F1.

Yet another nugget for me from the forums! I do wish, however, that if a
copy of BOL was already opened it would use that for its search and not open
a new BOL.

and... as of 2005, shift isn't needed. Just F1 will do.

Hmmm. For me it does. (From SQL 2000 QA or from SQL 2005 SSMS). Wonder
why? Or why not?

As far as I understand, whether or not you get a new window depends on if your "host" (QA/SSMS)
already has opened a BOL or not. Try opening BOL from start menu. Then F1. You get new window. Close
both. Not do F1 and F1 again. Only one BOL.
