"SELECT SYSTEM_USER" will return the actual user account. For example, I have
granted access to certain NT Groups. The "SELECT SYSTEM_USER" will return the
person's NT account rather than the NT Group used in accessing the database
server.

SYSTEM_USER always returns the NT user for Windows authentication or the SQL
account for SQL authentication. You can also use IS_MEMBER to check if the login
account is a member of a specific role.
