I want to add/remove email addresses from an active directory distribution

SQL Server Developer >> Can I make a change to active directory from a stored procedure? In the present environment (SQL Server 2000), you can certainly do this by
coding an extended stored procedure and calling it.

If security is not an issue, you can use xp_cmdshell to run any process from
SQL Server.

SQL Server Developer >> Can I make a change to active directory from a stored procedure? That's sounds great. Do you know of a good place for me to start finding out
how to do that or how to use extended sprocs. I haven't ever done that.

Thanks.
