SQL Server Developer >> SQL 2005 books

Hi,

I would like to learn more about SQL 2005 and I would like to buy 2 books.

First one should be the book with practical problems and solutions to that
problems, so book with examples and not book about introducing the new
features and full of documentation. The examples should be mostly of
transact sql nature and less of database administration, but should have
both chapters.

Second one should be the book about optimization and indexing. Not the index
theory but practical examples - some problem and then the steps to solve
this problem. How to use database tunning wizard,....

Once I bought one book for optimizing sql2000 - but there was just some
theory about indexes and structures of it, without examples. Index tunning
wizard was explained only with couple of sentences. There was no explain
which events and data columns should be included for profiler trace - which
is what most people would like to hear.

So, that's why I'm asking here for some recommendations.

Thanks,
Simon

SQL Server Developer >> SQL 2005 books What suits someone else may not suit your needs, but if you live near a
Barnes & Noble or Borders book store, then those are excellent places to
browse books. The book stores near my home has at least 100 books on
database development in general and a dozen books on SQL Server 2005
specifically.
